Hello World,
I’ve had a great weekend so far and it’s Sunday morning. I’m going to get to church a little earlier today to help with set up. I skipped doing that the last couple of weeks because I really hope that others will “step up”, but some weeks are better than others.
Today, my niece Kristin posted a picture of her brother’s bronzed shoes on FB. So I did the same with mine! I still have them!
Funny that we still have these things!
Yesterday I made my famous “Banana Nut Muffins” and decided to ride Red to Hazel’s Cup to visit with Heather. Ralph came by too so it was great sharing a cup of coffee together. I really like those guys! Anyway as I was leaving, I was trying to muscle Red up over the drainage curb and couldn’t do it and dropped the bike. Everyone came running to my rescue including a complete stranger – a woman down the road a little. It was pretty embarrassing so I’m confessing my mistake to the WWW. I just bruised my knee and thumb, but I’m a little stiff this morning. Don’t think I’ll ride Red to church today, but may go to the Botanical Gardens later today. Steve said he was going to go to visit the gardens. Maybe I’ll see him there. I will probably ride Red to the Gardens. Just depends. Red didn’t sustain any injuries. The saddlebags keep her safely off the road when that kind of thing happens.
Yesterday I took this picture of Metaxa. I love the way she sits with her little tail wrapped around her feet! So cute!
So my favorite news anchorman, Brian Williams has fallen from grace. He got caught in a lie and is removing himself from NBC News. I don’t think he’ll recover from this. I’m disappointed. I’ve been watching that news broadcast since the days of Walter Cronkite. I’m surprised how much I’m concerned about this. So now I may go to CBS news with Scott Pelley. I’ve always like him on 60 Minutes. But I don’t know. We’ll see how it goes. So Brian vs Scott:
Life goes on!
Dick wants to finish painting my kitchen and then on to the guest room. We’ll be doing next weekend with most of it being done on my “Monday” off the 16th. That will give me time to go to Boca Bargoons and look for some fabric for the window valance. I think I can do the “stapling” of the fabric. I think I’ll look on line for some pointers on YouTube. You can find all kinds of things like that there. The important thing is to be sure that the frayed edges are covered in the back so that it doesn’t look messy from below – although no one would really see that, but I’d know how it would look and I’d be unhappy with it. I may get some pointers from Lisa D who did my chair. I may even let her do the work – depending on how much it would cost. I should ask her.
Well, time to get rolling. Have a beautiful day today! Thanks for visiting!

Literally THOUSANDS of cats and cat photos have I seen in my life–and continually been “daddy” to one or more kittens ever since age 2 on the farm until now. But Mary, I have to tell you that never…NEVER has there been one who expresses himself so well, is so utterly charming, a “born actor”, as is METAXA. He (IS a “he”?) captivates, cavorts, creates, and seems to perform, willingly and humbly at any given time.
Sorry–but that cat really turns me on. He brings forth creative juices–ALL I NEED is a fedora, a curved “Sherlock” pipe, some shiny shoes, a jacket with shiny leatherette elbows and an old typewriter.Well that photo I’m copying to use sometime…somewhere! Thanks in Advance (TIA)…
One of my sisters has my baby shoes. I should mention to them as I get older, reverting to (carefree) childhood, I might need to wear them in about 10 yrs. HAHAHA! NO, I mean…(sigh).
Yup, going to that big flower garden in East Naples, would be nice to run into you there, but NOT with bikes. (Hope your knee continues to be better. Knee, Hip, Elbow, Ankle, all danger spots for me, and my natural clumsiness intensifies with each year…BLAH!
Hey, gotta go do laundry. Thanks for blogging.
Enjoy church, and whatever else……
Mary

Hope you enjoyed the Garden! I took a nap and ran out of time to go there today. Maybe next time.
