Hello Everyone,
It’s raining this morning. I like it when it rains here, it doesn’t happen all that much and I don’t recall that the “rainy season” was all that bad this year, but I have a short memory so I could be wrong about that. I know we had a “flood” back in August, but I was in Connecticut when the bulk of that happened so I wasn’t caught up in that.
I’m going to go see where the Intergroup Office is considering taking a “space” off of Airport Road and Radio Road. It will be closer to me which will be nice. There is also a Brown Bag business meeting today to talk about the relocation of that meeting. I’ll try to make that meeting. I should be finished at church as others are “large and in charge” today. In fact, I don’t think I’ll go in until about 9AM today to make it in just for “Sunday School” and then the service at 10. My only responsibility today is to do the “counting”.
My countdown to “FREEDOM” is on. Only 7 days until the Gratitude Dinner. 5 days until the Variety Show at Moorings Park and then things will settle down. I’ve got my big bag of stuff all packed for Saturday already. Duct tape, scotch tape, scissors and all of the signage I can think of. I’m trying to determine what time to go to the Gratitude Dinner. I think I’ll plan to be there at 4 and if I get there at 3:30 it will be fine. I’m not sure what we’ll be “saddled” with as far as set up is concerned. I think I’ll come in “work clothes” and change into my “outfit” at the church. Lisa D has promised to be running the reception desk. All I need to get from them are the tickets to count the number of people who come through the door. Some people never hand in their tickets. I just hope we get close to 300 for the event. Since I’ve been keeping track – since 2008, attendance has been falling off. 2008 there were 410, 2009 there were 425, 2010 there were 405. In 2011 – I wasn’t involved and don’t know except it was the year that we lost money due to “tee shirts” and over booking the caterer. 2012 there were 316, last year 351 and this year only 259 (today). Usually the dinner is on the Friday or Saturday before Thanksgiving. This year it is a week earlier. I think an extra week of ticket sales (since we “procrastinate”) would help our number. But you know, I’m “letting this go”. It isn’t my problem. But I think Peter has done a great job and I’ve felt less stress over this one than I have in the past. I think it may be because I’m not going to do it again next year. (So I say – I hope I can stick with that plan).
Yesterday I got a petticure. I was in the mall getting my “free” battery for my watch and thought it would be nice to have my”toes” done. Boy the mall has changed a lot. I haven’t been there in a while and had a hard time figuring out where I was in there. I went in through Sears since I came in from that side of the mall. I usually park in the garage and try to go in through what used to be Dillards – it still may be that, but I don’t really know. Anyway, here is a pic of the day!
My Asian petticurist was “John”. Do you think that is his real name? Anyway he said I trimmed my nails too short. Oh well. It really tickles to get this done. I did get a little leg massage that was nice. I kept thinking how dry my legs were while he was doing that and it was a nice touch for $35. I gave him a $10 tip – I’m not EVER sure what is correct so I always over tip I think. In the middle of the petticure he started speaking in his native language to one of the other women there and all I could think of was that episode of “Seinfeld” when Elaine got insulted at the nail salon by the people talking about her in their language since she was such a bad client. I’m sure they were talking about ME – ha ha!!
Well that’s about all for today. The kitties are sleepy this morning, all napping – must be the weather. Have a great day today!

My toenails I trim too short b/c I don’t want to do it again so soon. Never had someone else do it since age 5. Also never had a massage. PITY me. HA!
Your Asian Pedicurist “John” reminds me of a Chinese owner of restaurant named JOE MILLER’S CHINESE RESTAURANT..
(It’s a short joke..) BTW, restaurant People ALWAYS overtip, yes? Having lived on tips for some years, I’d be ashamed to not be generous in that regard. Prob something psychologically out of whack. I know–PRIDE. EGO. (sigh)
Riding Flex Sunday, the RAIN was not bothersome but the “cold-wave wind” went through to my bones. In fact, the same bones said to me, “Seve, you IDIOT…riding today”. So I gotta buy a heavy coat for the few cold mornings we expect in Naples annually.
So this is “Freedom Week” for Mary, and assorted others involved in Gratitude Dinner. I hope everything runs like a Rolex.
Among the several reasons for a low turnout, add to the list that (it seems to me) we have been overwhelmed with announcements at ALL the meeting, of sometimes 3 or 4 fellowship “eating events”…we have to keep referring to http://aanaples.org to find out “What’s on this week?” But this Gratitude Dinner will be one of the BEST in several years, I feel that. Bye for now…www

I always appreciate your comments to my blog. You never skip anything in my “ramblings”. I should be as loyal to the “Fourth Dimension” but sadly I’m not “yet”. Maybe sometime soon though!
