Hello Everyone,
Well the weatherman was right today. It is only 70 degrees this morning. SO NICE!
OK so I did it. I took the plunge. I found a convertible Laptop. It’s an ASUS T100TA 10.1″ Convertible Laptop with 64GB of memory. I’m not sure what that all means, but I have to tell you it is the sweetest little thing. Here is a picture of it on it’s big sister:
I am still setting it up, but I am amazed that it takes a lot of the stuff I have on this laptop and brings it over to the new one. I have pictures and email set up and Netflix and Kindle and I’m going to set up SKYPE today. It’s SO CUTE! I love it. I was shopping for this and ended up buying it for $350 and that was with a wireless mouse too. I got the LAST one they had and it was the Floor Model so I asked for a discount. They gave me 5% off – I never do that, but I did yesterday. Michael sent me a link about a couple of computers I might like, one was the Surface 3 which I absolutely LOVE, but it is $1000 and then there was a link to the Lovonto (sp?) which was $700. I just didn’t want to spend that much. But this little one is really for travelling so I don’t have to take my “heavy” laptop. I expect that this laptop will be my main computer when my desktop dies. I’ve already begun transitioning this one in that way. I went to Office Depot after the Common Solutions meeting at 9:30 and I sealed the deal by 10. I was going to get my hair done at 1PM which is right across the street from Office Depot, so when I finished there, I could go by and pick her up! They had to take all of the security stuff and Office Depot junk off of her and clean her up. So now she is home sweet home! My home screen on it comes up with the Naples Pier with a beautiful sunset. Then I just have to “swipe” the screen up and sign on and I’m good to go. It has Windows 8.1 on it. I really like it. I overheard a guy at the office supply store saying he hated the “tiles”, but I think they are pretty cool. Oh did I mention it is a “touch” screen? Plus with the press of a little button, it becomes a tablet and looks like an iPad. So for just $350 I’m good to go! I’m using it now for a clock with the beautiful pier picture on it. I’m not sure how to find that picture so I’ll work on that so I can post it here. There is only one USB port and I see nothing for peripherals – no connection to printers, but it is set up for my “wireless” printer I have. I haven’t tried using it yet. Also it came with a code to set up MS Office 2013. So that is on it now – and I don’t think it is just a “test” one – I think it is permanent. Not sure about that either. It doesn’t have PUBLISHER on it, but this laptop does and so does my desktop for now. Plus if I need something, I can go to the Intergroup Office and use their stuff.
So now you ask – why so many gadgets? I can’t help myself – I’m an addict. So I now have 2 Kindles, a laptop, a convertible laptop/tablet and a desk top. I have 3 printers – one is a scanner, printer, fax machine, the other 2 are wired to my desktop. I like each of the items for different reasons. My Kindle Fire is sweet and I like to play solitaire on it before going to sleep. I can also check FB for the last time before I go to sleep too and if I’m still awake, I have all my Kindle Books on it. I’ve watched movies on my Kindle, but I think my new baby will be doing that now. I read on line that the battery lasts for a “surprisingly” long time – 6 hours? Not sure maybe more. I’ll have to TRY it. I like my Paperwhite Kindle because of the screen not having the black one that you can’t see in the sun. I like this laptop because it is so fast and wonderful. Now that it has a new fan, it has been fantastic. I also found a great “fix it” shop when I got that repaired since Office Depot doesn’t fix fans. One thing I need to fix on the new baby is the password to get into it. It was set up with a long password that is hard to remember but I haven’t had a chance to fix that yet. When this computer upgraded to 8.1 I had to sign in also, and found a way to just need to put 4 numbers in to open it up. I did it once, I’ll do it again. And when the new little computer was “set up” it brought all of the cat pictures with it that change the background on the screen. I have no idea how that works.
I was messing around on it yesterday and came across something about some documents on it. They were REALLY old – 2 or 3 years. I have no idea how that happened, but somehow the “cloud” had them and they showed up on the baby. I’m still not “clear” about the cloud. I like drop box and now I need to figure out how to put that on my new baby, but maybe since it comes with a cloud already attached to it, maybe I don’t need that. Not sure. I am still looking for a video of how everything works on it. All I can find is the “manual” which is on the task bar and it’s not interactive – just a long, dry, boring manual. I suppose I could read it – yea sure – never happen!
Just received this link from Peggy E about Sandy Beach. What an inspiration to us all!
OK, I’m about ready to go to church now. Have a beautiful day!

Mary, this is the only day I find w/o comments. Consider–is it possible you accidentally deleted Sun, Oct. 5th comments. Otherwise I cannot find any changes in my machine.
Realizing you prob don’t have time to follow up on this now–but try to remember? It’s the only answer I can find.
Now I’ll see if this goes through…and NOPE, I ain’t gonna type it again, since I AM keyboard-challenged–true!
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW BABY COMPUTER… such a cute little machine, and it comes apart (At first, I thought it broke). Cannot believe it is still Sunday–me and Flex been SO many places today, it seems like two days. I LIKE days like that. And at the end some of us ask God to help me know (see) if I was kind to all, and NOT rude to any. And, ya know, he DOES bless our work, and God blesses me this day–with friends…(I think it is “sleepy” time…hope this DOESN’T publish!)
Bye

I wrote up a comment to this comment, but it didn’t go through so something is wrong with all of this commenting thing. I’m hoping this will go through now. I’m wondering if Word Press gets overwhelmed at times? I know FB does.
