Hello world,
So last night we got together with Dick and Doug and went to The Dock for dinner. I haven’t been there in a while and it was good to be in familiar surroundings. It hasn’t changed much in the 30 or so years it’s been around. Still the SAME BAR set up. I remember drinking plenty of beer at that bar. Also wine. I remember waking up the next day with a hang over (of course) and blaming it on “dirty ice”! My how things have changed over the years. No hang over for me today! Our waiter was Brian. I’ve known him for all my years in AA. He used to come to the Brown Bag and he’s so cute. Looks like he spends a lot of time in the gym. Maybe he’ll do the work out for me that I need to do! (Another “I’ll start that soon”). Anyway he said he’s just “dry”. Not really working the program, but I told him to “get a sponsor” and suggested a couple. But we’ll see. It was clear that he was happy to see me – hugged me twice! So adorable.
So here we are having fun at The Dock:
So “Dick at the Dock” – sounds like “Hickory Dickory Dock, the Mouse ran up the Clock” – Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha!
Yesterday we had our final session on “Best Friends”, so Lily takes me to lunch at the CHL (Center for Healthy Living) – they’ve expanded the menu and there is more to offer now. It was nice going there and having an “extended” lunch. That’s the problem for me, I only have 1/2 hour for lunch and it would take up most of the time going there, picking up the food, returning to my break room to eat it and then get back to work. I know I could “spend a little more time” but I don’t like to do that very often. Anyway, we get back to our room to set up the Power Point, and the equipment isn’t working – no keyboard, no mouse…..ugh! So we called IT and got it running mostly on time, but my stress was a little high at that point. Lily even said we were a little too “laid back” for this session which was an amazing thing to have come out of her mouth. Now that it is over it’s funny, but wasn’t at the time. However, no one else knew we were having “issues”. Everyone did a great job on their final projects. It was really wonderful and just another fantastic program for our residents. I LOVE MOORINGS PARK!
OK so now I’m seriously ending my love affair with bread, and all grains for that matter but mostly wheat. No more Oatmeal either. I’m getting “determined” now and reading “Wheat Belly” (8% read now) so I’ll “lose that belly fat”. Had a GRAPE salad last night with spinach and scallops along with some bleu cheese and a dressing that had a “hint” of bacon in it. It was “on the side” and I didn’t use much of it. That was the best salad. My new favorite dish at The Dock! We had so much fun laughing and yelling at one another – it was really noisy in there – could it be that we are getting “hard of hearing”? NO NOT THAT. But really it was noisy. We all had a blast. It’s amazing what happens when you get with family – no matter what!
Fabriena at work told me I should get “Christmas Cards” made up with this:
Too late for this year – and probably not next year either – I’m not doing Christmas Cards any more. I guess I’ll give out Candy Canes next week. Time to hit Walmart!
Have a great day today. Life is good! First Sister’s by the Sea meeting tonight. I’m looking forward to getting involved with that this year. Have a beautiful day today!

Yellowstone is on the list. If D & D go I’ll go too. I don’t like travelling alone and they would be great to go with.

AH! Dinner at the Dock…I worked (bartender) for Vin DePasquale at Sailing/Yacht Club BD=before-Dock. Place has been noisy for ±30 years–I believe they have a noise machine hiding there, so if there are 5 people at the bar, it sounds like two-HUNDRED-and-five…
Glad you enjoyed the outing. With “family”, who cares about noise, etc. And you had special service, I’d bet on that (Brian!)
Mary! No BREAD? How in the world can you eat peas with no “pusher”? Or wipe up–and eat–the superfluous gravy? So I won’t tell you about the sandwich I’m making right now with mayo lettuce, celery, tomato tuna, and two slices of Publix best home-baked br…NO! I won’t write the word, rhymes with “head”
A sticky icon would fit perfectly HERE!
HAHA! I like that–your grape salad…smiles.
THANKS for a truckload of returning memory about Crayton Cove, and its history, back to when Benny Morris Jr bought all that property in 1915. (He was a customer in the ’60s)
Live well today…less stress!
