Good Morning Thursday, October 16, 2014

Hello Everyone,

So my picture of the day comes from work.  We have a woman who is 107 – soon to be 108 – this month I think.  Anyway,  yesterday we got her to play Putt Putt golf in our Grand Salon.  Here is a picture of her.

This woman is from Romania.  She is amazing.  I took a little video of her so I can show it to the family when I see them next.  They usually come in on the weekends but every once in a while they slip in during the day.  Anyway, this woman has been through a lot.  The family brought her by a while back and then they moved back to Chicago for a short time, but it took a toll on the whole family so they moved back and brought her back to us.  It is amazing that we get to share our time with a woman who has lived 107 years!  How often do you get to do that?  She is 107 and doesn’t take any medications!  She is still walking well and speaks English to us.  She likes to take yarn and roll it into balls.  She looks at magazines and I wonder what she gets out of them.  It appears that she is reading – but probably not.  Anyway,  she is a blessing to us.

So I got to thinking about the number of tickets sold for The Gratitude Dinner.  We’re at 105 right now.   Last year a month out from the event we had 200 tickets sold.  So we are behind.  But more tickets are sold, I just don’t have the money yet and they don’t count until the money is in my hands.  But this year we’re a month out today and I don’t think people realize that the event is a week earlier than in the past.  But we all procrastinate – it’s the nature of the disease.

Out of time today.  Have a beautiful day on this wonderfully, cool start to the morning.  Remind me to talk about the debate last night between Rick Scott and Charlie Crist.  Wow!

Woman 107-108…WOW! Amazing. That means there’s possibility I have 26 years to go. And I’ll TAKE EVERY LAST ONE of them!!
Because I LOVE life, and hang with people who do ALSO! It is pleasant thought to believe that maybe we help each other in this wonderful way of life.

When I look at magazine in a dr’s office, it appears that I’m reading, but I’m NOT! Not even looking at the pictures. Usually just berating myself for forgetting my book of the moment. Not yet 107….

Gratitude Dinner will go just as beautifully as planned, and as it has gone for many years now.

SHAME ON ME…Did not watch the gubernatorial debate between Christ and Scott. I know who I like, but ya never know when a debate might change that. And I keep telling people how it is our duty to stay informed. Well, I screwed up…I’ll try to find it online.
