Well this is what I’m thinking about today……
We will never forget!
I remember I was working at the restaurant and couldn’t stop watching the TV all that day. I saw everything happen in real time. I was mesmerized. I’m sure I got drunk that day, and just as an added dimension, September 11th that year would have been my 25th wedding anniversary but I was divorced. Had been for 12 years! After 9/11 our business dropped significantly. I remember I was scheduled to go on a “Beaches” trip and we all decided to cancel due to the “no fly” issue. It was a scary time in America! I’m sure I’ll come home tonight and watch the shows that will mark this anniversary. It took me another 8 months to “hit my bottom” as my anniversary is 7/22/2002. And so it goes……
Now on to a different subject. I’m still driving the dreamy loaner car. It is a Tiguan not a Touareg. Anyway I’m probably spelling them both wrong. I guess I should research what the name means. I will someday. But I really like this car. Now I’m looking at a few other cars: specifically a Honda CR-V and a Kia Sorento. I went to the CarMax site and there were a few available. They are all around the $23 to $24K new. Now that it’s the end of the year for them and the 2015 cars are coming in, it may be a good time to buy. I like the Blue that it comes in, but I think I’d settle for almost any color – even the Silver I’m driving. One thing about Rose, though – I could always find her in a parking lot – so sweet that yellow is! Here is my Rose……

I love the “Check Twice for Motorcycles” sticker that matches her. Well that is going on the new car too! But I’m still concerned about buying a new car. I contacted my “financial guy” and he is out of town right now, but will be back on Monday to advise me. Of course, as a drunk, I’m going to do as I want to do. It’s in my DNA. We’ll see how it shakes out. We’re still waiting for the insurance guy to tell us what will be covered in this repair to Rose. More shall be revealed today I would guess. I’ll let you know…..I’m sure you’re as excited as I am about this major purchase. :-)!
