Good Morning Tuesday, December 23, 2014

Hello Everyone,

So only 2 more days until Christmas.  Yippee!  I’m looking forward to the 2 days off.  I’ll have a lot to do on Monday since it is a “payroll processing” day but I did a lot on it yesterday so I should be ok.   Anyway it will totally be worth it to have those extra days.  I’m gonna do lots of things.  Most of all check out this website: http://www.gourmetgirlcooks.com/.  Cathy turned me on to it and I’m so excited because it is by a woman about my age who started a website just to learn something and it has grown into an industry for her.  So I’m happy to know that things like that happen and you never know what is around the bend.  I’ll probably be “cooking” some this weekend.  Last night I used:

Wheat Belly be gone II

Wheat Belly be gone II

Again!  Tonight I’ve thawed out some Salmon so I’m going to try that.  I know tomorrow night will be busy with church and our Christmas Eve service so I’m not planning to have anything planned.  I’ll just “graze” when I get home if I’m hungry.  I’ve already noticed I’m not snacking as much and I’m not as hungry.  That is the whole premise of this “Wheat Belly” elimination thing.  The wheat and grains and sugar in the world has made us “crave” more and more so we eat more and more.  So I’m a convert.  More shall be revealed.

So today I’m thinking about my big cat Domino:

My helpers this morning.

My helpers this morning.

This picture is exactly like I’m experiencing this morning while I write this except Metaxa is in the basket.  Talk about “creatures” of habit!  Anyway, Jackie and I had a date to work on clipping Domino’s claws yesterday.  He hates doing that.  First he ran an hid behind the couch and hissed and bit and generally showed us he was not having anything to do with that “petticure” thing.  I think he thinks it is too “girlie”.  Anyway, Jackie and I fight him every time we do this.  So she came up with this idea to cover his eyes as she has had success with her male cat by using this:

Domino's Mask

Domino’s Mask

So we finally wrestled with him and she got the mask on him.  She started to clip his claws – she got 2 done I think, and he tore off out of her lap with the mask on.  He was running around with this thing on his head and we captured him in the bedroom and took it off of him.  It was really funny but we were both traumatized (Domino and me – Jackie was laughing at us).  He was hissing and scratching and biting.   And he was screaming too.  It was really pathetic.  So we stopped trying to get his claws.  Jackie thinks she can have more luck trying to do his claws without me around.  She is probably right – she is about most things so I hope she comes by one day and gets him to cooperate.  I’d take him to the vet to have it done, but I can’t get him into a carrier very easily.  That is a fight too and he’s pretty strong.  So consequently his claws are still sharp – but we did get a couple of them done.  It’s a battle I don’t think I’ll ever win.

Today I’m looking forward to working because there are a lot of people away for the holidays.  When people like Lily are away, we get things done that have been “piling” up because of projects that are “thrust” upon us at the last moment.  Today I plan to clean up around my desk so that I can “get ahead” for the end of the month since I’m planning to take 2 days off again next week with the New Year’s Holiday.  We’ll see how much I get done – you never know what will happen in our type of business.  Sometimes there is just some type of drama that occurs either with the staff (mostly) or residents.

Well time is up right now.  Got to get rolling.  Have a beautiful day and thanks for visiting!

So, I was reading your blog out loud to Bill. When I got to the part about Domino, Bill was afraid you were considering cooking him on the George Foreman. You know Bill…he said there would be enough meat to feed you an entire week. Have a great Tuesday!!

I appreciate it that you’re reading the “blog”. I see how that “recipe” lady (can’t remember the name as I write this) but it seems she started like me with her blog. Also Mark’s Apple a Day is definitely a “wordpress” site. Do you see the “floating” “share” bar? It’s just like mine – only it shows many more “likes” than mine! I’m learning a lot from Mark also!

OMG! Grilled CAT? Well I guess if one is hungry enough…”it all depends” (your cartoon from two days ago!)

Hope Cathy does not mind me eavesdropping on her comment. Being the only reader who comments WAS kinda lonely. Liking that she does not simply lurk–grin!

Just think, Mary, two weeks from TOMORROW (Wednesday) until January 5, 2015 you will have worked 3 days, while being free EIGHT…Ho-Ho-Ho!!!

You will fall in love with that grill, it can become a daily habit. (BTW, I like Metaxa “in the basket”, my fav pic of him.)

I have already fallen in love with the grill. It’s so cute and just perfect for “only” one to cook for – me!

My house is beginning to smell like “fresh” cooking – that is new. Anyway, I’m having fun!
