Good Morning Tuesday, January 13, 2015

Hello World,

So this morning I’m thinking about my responsibilities today.  I will go to work of course and then after that I have the Corrections Committee Meeting at 5:30 at the 24 Hour Club.  I’ll probably go right to the 24 Hour Club from work today.  I kept forgetting to tell Tim about the fact that we need to “stake” out the room before 5 so that no one else uses it without knowing we have it.   I know that was true of our meeting last month for The Grapevine.  Thanks for the “heads up” about that Steve!

So the next quarterly in Boca Raton is sold out at the host hotel.  Sara Jane and I have a room (each) for 2 nights.  I thought I would drive over on Friday since it will be one of my “Fridays” off, although by then I’ll be back to 5 days each week because our Memory Unit will be finished by then.  But I’ll request it off anyway now.  I’ve contacted the chair at District 8 to find out about “overflow” hotels so I’ll let people know about that if he gets back to me by email.

We’re getting close to selling out of the tickets for our Anniversary dinner at The Naples Group I think.  I sent out an email yesterday about that and I’m happy to report I’ve heard back from about 1/2 of the group.  Now that is a lot better than the response from the Gratitude Dinner reps.  I never hear back from any of them, except my friend Steve!  So I’m glad I’ll be out of that business this year.  On Thursday, I have a Sister’s by the Sea meeting beginning at 6.  I’ll stay until about 7:30 and then I’ll be going to the Cookie Meeting.  I have a little homework to do before that meeting and my skip this blog tomorrow because of that.  I need to update the forms on my desktop computer because it has the version of Publisher that works.  I wish it would work on this computer, but it doesn’t so that is another argument for trying to keep my desktop alive for a little longer.

Gary showed me a new version of his District 20 app that he developed.  It was really amazing – it had all types of items on it and even had all of the pamphlets listed on it.  AMAZING.  Only trouble is that it takes a new iOS version 8.1 or higher and I don’t have that on my phone.  I went to Verizon yesterday to ask about it and the guy said the only thing I could do was delete my pictures and try to free up enough space for it.  So I did that.  For some reason, there was a section in my pictures that was a repeat of another section so I deleted those pictures.  It supposedly freed up enough space, but when I tried to download the new version, there was a problem with it.  There was a message saying that “they” had my request to upgrade and would be in contact with me about that.  So I tried it a couple of more times, so now “they” have a couple (maybe 3) requests.  So I’ll wait a couple of days to see how they “let me know” the new version is running.  More shall be revealed I suppose.  Sometimes it gets a little frustrating with this technology – all I know is I want that new version of the app so I’ll keep trying and go back to Verizon if I need to.  I asked about an upgrade of my phone and I’m not due for that until October.  So we’ll see!

As I was eliminating pictures from my phone, it’s funny how your “life” flashes before your eyes.   So today here is the picture of the day:

Moving the IG office on Saturday

Moving the IG office on Saturday

This was an amazing “feat” for moving the Intergroup Office a few weeks ago and now it is “up and running” and everyone is “happy as a clam”.  There are “extended” hours now and tonight will be one of those nights so I’ll have a place to hang out until my meeting tonight.  Life is good!  Take care everyone.  Thanks for visiting!

WOW! Hotel for Area 15 Assembly sold out in one day? For fun, I tried BEFORE 9 AM Monday to rent a room online (NOT using the special “code”…and notice was “NO ROOMS THIS WEEKEND” That was even before the first room was reserved for the area.

The Intergroup office “move” was a purest example of “pure” AA…everything “out” and “in” before 12 noon. And that’s the way it IS, folks. So fortunate and so proud to be part of this God-given, life-saving fellowship.

As for new apps by Gary, I used to want to be one of FIRST with the latest. But now I’ll just wait until he makes it available for the “common” people, and some others like me with an ANDROID OS.

Hope your “Corrections” meeting went well–of course, that is also a group laced with enthusiasm–they get it from their leader.
    Oh! Is that YOU?–grin!

AH! Wednesday…enjoy this day, and spread the words of peace, hope, light and love. Kindness is for everyone!
    Bye.

Thanks for responding. I’ve been busy the last two mornings with “other” things so Wylie took a “back seat”. More shall be revealed, but I wanted to say I agree with your assessment: “So fortunate and so proud to be part of this God-given, life-saving fellowship.” I concur!
