Good Morning Tuesday, November 11, 2014

Hello Everyone,

Thinking about Veteran’s Day today.  We’re supposed to wear Red, White & Blue to work.  So I’m ready to do that, plus we’ll be “Walking Around the Park” today in honor of Veteran’s Day.  My father was a veteran of WWII.  Here is a picture of him:  (I need to wait for it to come to my email and then I’ll add it.

I have a wall of Family pictures in my house.  I love that wall – it goes by the kitty litter closet into the guest bathroom so I look at it quite often.  It has a picture of Mom and Dad at the top (added after this picture) and then it has the 3 sketches of my brothers and me by Roger Vernon.  My cousin Dick has a portrait of him by the same artist.  My mother and Aunt Peg probably got together to have them done at the same time.  I wonder if we just gave him a picture of us, I can’t imagine sitting long enough for this portraits.  The wall also has a few of my favorite pictures of us as kids and of course there is a picture of my beloved dog, Trigger!  Also a few pictures of our grandparents too.

So on this Veteran’s Day, I’m thinking of my “Pop” in the war in Germany fighting on “D” Day on the beaches of Normandy.  He never spoke about the war much.  The only story I recall was one where he said he shot some pidgeons in a church bell tower somewhere in Germany.  My brother Bill and I went to France back in 1990 and traveled to Normandy filming his route as we went.  Bill carried this big ole HEAVY camera around all over France that summer – long before the “mini” digital cameras were around.  But when we got back with the film, Dad didn’t want to see it.  I wonder if Bill still has that film somewhere in a box.

So it’s time to wrap this up today.  I’ll leave you with a picture of Bamboo!  If you look carefully, both Domino and Wylie are in the picture, but it’s mostly about Bamboo – may she Rest In Peace!

Although this is the only blog to which I’ve been faithful (time constraints…besides, I enjoy the conversation(s) here), SURELY this morning it seemed like I was reading another blog–interesting, but not the “same”. First time here in weeks? that meetings, Gratitude Dinner, tickets, et al are not mentioned (exaggeration on my part–grin!)

So as I “typed to “move on”, I saw a familiar CAT photo, of Wylie and Domino–OK, I’m still home here. Don’t recall photo of Bamboo.. I kept photo of “Tina” for probably 30 years before it disappeared…so only time I think of my wonderful companion–Tina–during some dark months, years, is when I’m reminded by something like your RIP for Bamboo. Thanks–I mean that.

Please read that line right over the picture of cats…is “domino” supposed to read “Bamboo”. Forgive me if I misread…

ENUFF here, before I get into trouble, editing your words. HA!

    Have beautiful day!
