Good Morning Tuesday, October 7, 2014

Hello Everyone,

Well we had our Corrections Meeting last night.  So far we have sold 108 tickets to the Picnic.  That is GREAT – plus a lot of them are “Bill W” tickets!  We talked about the picnic and I think we have most everything “lined up” for the event.  If we have a day like we did last year it will be a fabulous event.  Haven has committed to helping me “at the door”.  So grateful for that – she keeps me calm when I begin to get crazy!  It’s a great team!  So the other news is that it was the “Election” night at our committee.  Polly has been a fantastic “chief” for us – she is so great, but she is going to be District Secretary and it is time for her to step down as chair of the committee.  But she isn’t going away, because she is stepping in to the “Women’s Coordinator” position.  She will be great doing that I’m sure – just like everything else she does.  Tim S will be our Chairperson, Emilio will be our Co Chair (and secretary until someone steps up) and I’ll be the treasurer again.  I was willing to “rotate” out, but there wasn’t another willing candidate so I’m doing it again.  I am really happy about that because I LOVE doing that and I love this group of people.  It is really a cool group!  We have a “new guy” on the committee and his name is Chad.  He has taken on the responsibility of being the “literature” chair from Tim.  So the Corrections Committee really ROCKS!

Next subject!  Aunt Pat.  Luann sent me this picture of her yesterday:

So Aunt Pat has a new friend named Ruby.  She looks so happy in this picture.  When you are living with dementia, you make a new friend everyday!  But I hope this placement works for her.  I’m relieved that this move went well.  I’m sure she is a little “confused” but that will settle down and it sounds like the staff are caring and loving.  Again, prayers were answered!

I got my little baby to work Netflix yesterday!  Yahoo!  I took the little baby to the Corrections meeting last night and made some notes on it to see how that would go.  I also sent an email to Emilio from it showing him the original $2000 book order we made so we could get the inventory ordered before the price increase on October 1st.  That took a long time to send out.  I just kept it running while I drove home and it finally “went”.  So I guess that is one “shortcoming” of this new baby – but that was one email – I’ll try it again to see if that is the “norm”.  We placed that book order on the 30th of September.  Thank you Bill S for getting us moving on that!  I also showed her off at work yesterday.  A bunch of us get together for lunch and we decided that Monday’s would be “show and tell”.  Next week Gail is going to show us her “blue tooth” phone thingy.  It’s funny – but it is kind of fun to have a diversion at work sometimes.

We are cranking up for the Variety Show.  Of course it is during the week before the Gratitude Dinner so I’ll be pretty stressed that week – watch out!  We’ve decided to sing “It’s a  Small World” (afterall).  That way, all we need to do is parade around in some silly costume singing that annoying song from Disney World.  It’s gonna be GREAT (or Grape as we say at the GV committee).

OK – enough from me today.  Life is good and today is TUESDAY!  Have a good one!

Aunt Pat looks like a “take-charge” woman. (Her niece might share a piece of that same attribute–grin!) Like she is telling Ruby her friend, just “how it IS.” LOVE that.

Just been to the “aanaple.org” calendar. SO many events, all worthy. Some REALLY attractive flyers, like to know who creates those, especially the one for Corrections picnic. OUTSTANDING for “family-type” event, loads of color. And that “Serenity-By-the-SEA” flyer looks SO professional.

A most enlightening (IMO) song, the words of “Small World”…

its a world of laughter and a world of tears
its a world of hopes and a world of fears
there’s so much that we share
    that it’s time we’re aware
its a small world after all

Besides, that is FIVE WEEKS from now. Sounds like Mary’s world is getting, well…FULL? smiles!!!

Hope your ASUS is doing well, girl. See you around, my friend.
    Bye
