Good Morning Wednesday, October 8, 2014

Hello Everyone,

First of all I’m putting a prayer out there for my friend Steve who is going to the doctor today to get a little something removed from his throat.  For a speedy recovery and for his doctor and his/her team to be successful in their work today on my friend.  God bless!

So I posted a cool video on FB today all about how music effects water.  I’ll add it here too.  It was from Michael’s message last Sunday and it still is in my heart and mind so I should say it was a great one.  He was telling us how we were all connected and the good news is that I still remember it – doesn’t happen all that often I must admit.  Here it is:

Today I’m going to try a new plan.  It’s a Wednesday that I don’t have a “meeting” at Intergroup or District to attend, so I’m going to try to get to the Common Solutions meeting at 5:30 which is a woman’s meeting.  First, since I get out at 4PM, I’ll drop by my “jim” for a little work out – feeling guilty about the “personal training” I got a week ago and haven’t gone back.  So If I go to the gym for a while, I can be done by 5 and then drive over to the church.  Let’s see if this is what happens.  Only time will tell.

Our Corrections Picnic is on Sunday, October 26th.  I’ll be sitting at the front table taking and selling tickets and giving out “drink” tickets with my friend Haven.  I remember last year, not having tickets to sell so I made up little sticky notes so people could get their food.  I’m going to make up more tickets this year and have them in “reserve” for if that happens.  It will be a “test” to see if I can print them from this computer and if I can, then if my desktop dies, I’ll be “OK” with it.  I decided today to ask for Monday the 27th off so I can “catch” up on the picnic accounting for our committee.  Last year was such a beautiful day and we sold around 90 tickets at the door.  That is a lot!  But it was a fantastic day weatherwise, so lots of people showed up.

I went to a self defense program at work the other day.  I learned how to break out of a hold from someone if they grab me.  It’s pretty simple so I think I can remember it.  The deputy who ran the class was pretty cool.  He showed us a “switchblade” that he said we should all have “just in case”.  Got me thinking about how I would use that and if I could use that if that ever happened to me.  I suppose if I’m really concerned about that type of thing living alone, I should have a gun.  But I don’t want one of those either.  Now that I think of it, I think I have a “switchblade” that my dad had and I still have it in a drawer.  Nope – just found it again, not a switchblade.  It was great that we had a number of people there and it just goes to show how insulated some people are at work.  We have a Medical Director and his name is Michael Gloth.  We all call him “Doctor Gloth” so sometimes I forget what his first name is.  But he’s pretty high profile in the company.  So I have a partner named Barbara working with me – I’ve seen her around campus – I think she works with HHA (Home Health Agency).  Anyway, she had no idea who he was.  I thought that was interesting.  But then again, I have an activities coordinator who doesn’t know what the name of some of our RCA’s are – that was pretty telling too.  She works with these people everyday and not to know them is weird I think.  It’s a small department – only 40 people and the ones she may not know are the ones that work 7p to 7a, but the ones that work all day long with her?  Weird!

Just went outside and saw the eclipse of the moon.  I had gone out earlier but couldn’t find it.  I wasn’t sure whether it was to show between 6:30 AM or 6:30 PM – but obviously it was this morning.  It’s pretty awesome.  Jackie texted me to go look at it.  I texted Steve – see how it works?  Communication these days is pretty interesting.  I don’t like calling on the phone, but give me a text any day!

Well time is up for today.  Got to get going so I can get to work on time.  I wonder if the eclipse will be over as I’m driving to work?  We’ll see!

Mary…you do not just BE kind…you ARE kindness. Never heard you say unkind word about anyone…..hmmm. Well, ONCE–HA!
    “…we are not perfect…but we strive for…”

Saw that video on fb, and did not understand, but now, well, since music IS just a matter of waves being sent, it follows that water is affected by sound. Never thought about that. Wonder what ELSE is affected–besides our own auditory nerves? I’ll think about that all morning. AHHH! Maybe THAT is why music is such perfect way to praise God, sound waves travel through Infinity, so music (and VOICES?) travel allllll the way…

It tells me to be more careful what I say, b/c it NEVER goes away. OUCH!

Checked the bloody-red moon eclipse, but too cloudy, I guess, but the air had a strange flow to it, and ambience of the neighborhood had an eeriness , like a movie scene.

Careful everyone! Mary is into self-defense mode now. GOOD doing…in any day. But in these days…WOW! Ya never know. I’ll wear my “bike body armor” if you need practice–BUT NO KNIVES…please–grin!

Enjoy “new” meeting today, and .www it IS!!!
    (What a Wonderful World=.www)
    Bye
