Hello World! It is Monday, March 2, 2020. This is significant because it is my 100th post in Ms. Days Ease and I am now back in Naples, and I’ll be sleeping in my big bed with my PJ’s I left here and maybe both cats will sleep there also. I know Metaxa will, now if Wylie does that would be sweet. I finally made it to Naples after 8 days on the road. My body is tired and I’ve been doing laundry. I’m washing everything in the rig. Just hope my washer and dryer hold up until the new owners take over! It’s great being back and I’m trying to focus on getting things done so I’ll be ready for the mover quotes on Wednesday and Thursday. Then I’ll have a better sense of what I have to do.
One thing I keep forgetting to mention in these posts, is that about 4 days ago Wylie decided to sit in my lap while I was driving. It was so sweet and I loved the company while driving.
I’ve driven the whole way without any radio or anything on in the rig. I wanted to be sure to hear the directions from the GPS. I finally got secure that she was telling me everything I needed to know for the trip, so I’m sure the trip back to Arizona will be just as easy. I may take a few extra days and I think I want to go to Fountainbleu State Park where we stayed with Bill & Cathy on the way out. I’ll need to sit down and plan that trip, after I’ve figured out my plan for packing.
So I got home around 1:30PM today and the first thing I did was this:
The good thing about this issue was that the water meter was for my neighbor Wilhelm and fortunately they are in Germany. If it had been any other neighbor, they would not have any water. At least I got lucky with them being out of town. SO it’s very complicated. I called the County right away and they were there within the hour and had the water fixed – I was impressed by that, but……… Apparently, the homeowner is responsible for getting the piping fixed. So fortunately, Mike Belyea is able to fix it and will be here tomorrow afternoon to do the work. I still can’t believe that the County people wouldn’t fix it – I mean they were right there and I’m sure they had the stuff to fix it. But WHATEVER! I texted my neighbor in Germany and told him I broke his water line. So he knows about it and I told him the County would be billing him for the service call and that I would be paying to have the plumber come in and fix it and also if his water bill is unusually high, I would pay him the difference, but it only ran for about an hour at the MOST. I can’t imagine that being all that much, but whatever it is, I’ll take care of it. I need to remember to call the county to get an idea of how much that call would be.
SO last night I stayed at Ross Prairie in Dunnellon, FL. Bette, Suzan and I stayed there last year and I remembered that when I got to the place. It was the place where we were camped by a couple of women and their horses: Here is a picture of them:
So this time I got site #2 and it was a pull through and the only one with any decent shade. Which was great, but not as necessary as it could have been the last time we were there. We had NO SHADE on our sites. Here I am trying to put the shade tent up – which blew down when we left it. Fortunately the camp host rescued it for me:
This was when I realized that my ARB Tent was TOO HOT for the summer in Florida. I hope the new owner is camping in cooler temperatures! Because the shade tent blew away, I returned it to Amazon, but ultimately ended up buying it again, but I gave it to the new owner. I have a better shade tent for Daisy, although I haven’t needed it plus I have the CLAM which I haven’t used either, but plan to when I get back to Arizona.
So this year, this was in that same site:
No relief from the sun! And this was Otis & Olivi@ last year – dying in the HEAT:
This campground has a nice trail attached to it. Lots of horses use the trails, but there weren’t any horses this time. We had a good time at this campground. It was at the RVing Women Rally. We were in the “overflow” campground. It was fun. Anyway, I’m going to stop this now and continue it tomorrow. Time to hit the sack in my BIG BED! Don’t forget to come back for this epic post! #100!
So I was welcomed by this in addition to the water problem!
So one of my main projects when I got home was to work on my 4Patriots generator. I was thinking about putting it in my Jeep when I shipped that, but was worried it would be stolen, so then I was going to ship it out to Arizona, but it weighs so much, that I didn’t want to do that, so today this happened:
I was hoping I could fit the heater on top of the generator for storage and it works!! So I turned the generator on when I was in the rig – and by the way, I’ve had this generator for a year or more and it is still fully charged. Granted, I have not used it, but I think that is pretty cool. And I plugged in the heater and it worked, so now I don’t need to worry about boondocking because I have this extra unit to use to get the heater to work. YAY!
I am now putting things in Daisy to make her more my “home” when on the road. First I put in the generator and next I’m going to put my little “printer” into her up over the cab. I miss my printer on the road and need it periodically. So since it’s wireless, I should be able to get it to work in Daisy, so that is a project. I did reconfigure it and got it to work on my MIFI. Boy I wish I had thought of using my MIFI instead of Xfinity. Could have saved a bunch! I am now streaming CBSN on my iPad which is another way to save money! It’s free and I don’t need cable for it! Also, I spoke with a woman at 3 Rivers SP who talked about the antenna for the TV, so I thought I would try that in Daisy in my driveway. That would be cool if I could get some local news here since I no longer have cable. I couldn’t get it to work, but will try again sometime. I’m also planning to put some storage bins up there. There is room for that too. So I’m busy doing that sort of thing, plus a bunch of laundry. So off I go. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for visiting!
