Good Morning COVID-19 Warriors. Today is Monday, April 20, 2020. It is my parents anniversary, may they rest in peace. It was 80 years ago that they were married! WOW! Time flies!
Got up this morning and started my day with a meeting on ZOOM. NAC – Morning Reflections! It is always a great way to start the day. I love seeing familiar faces and once they start going back to the Club, I’ll be missing that. But someone suggested that we still do a ZOOM meeting anyway. Not sure how that will work, but we’ll see.
Today my project is to drive down the highway to Mescal Auto & RV Repair place to get the oil changed on my JEEP. It started to drip a little oil on my driveway, so my brother suggested I get the oil changed – of course I didn’t know when the oil was changed before so now I’ll add that to my list for maintenance for Daisy. This is where it is. Google says it’s 5 minutes away.
Looks like there are a couple of ways to get there, but it is just 2 exits up from where I am. Just need to get on the highway going in the right direction – again GOOGLE should get me there.
So yesterday I got a few projects done. It’s so much fun setting up this house. I’m almost finished opening boxes. I think I have 4 more boxes to put away but they need to wait for one reason or another. But I did this yesterday: Went to Walmart to buy “more stuff” – as if I didn’t have enough!
Set up the storage of the ironing board behind the den door. I like the way it worked out. The hanger is screwed into the top of the door. The iron is supposed to fit on the rack above the board, but it doesn’t so it’s on the shelf in the closet. I don’t know how much I’ll be using the ironing board, but I do have a few cotton shirts that got wrinkled when I packed them up.
I also plan to use the tub for storage. My shower curtain should be here this week from Wayfair, so I’ll take another picture once that happens:
So this guest bathroom is so funny. It’s sort of made for dwarfs! Look at the size of the tub – I’m guessing I can stretch out in it – I never take baths so it works great as storage – got the idea from Bill Strenkert at Intergroup – he uses the shower at the office for storage!!! Anyway, take a look at this little dwarf toilet!
It is very conveniently located though. It’s a pass through from the den to the laundry room into the kitchen. You can close it off if you want to, but I keep the 2 doors open so I can walk through it. Don’t know what I’ll do if I ever get visitors here. It is actually less steps to the little toilet from the bed than the bigger one in my master bath, so when I get up at night – 2 or 3 times, I usually go in there. During the day, I also use this bathroom more than the master bath. Another reason to keep the doors open.
Here is another project:
I bought a little Bonsai Plant to put in the porcelain pot. I’m going to try to nurture it and be sure that it lives – I do not have a green thumb. I also bought a little potted palm, but discovered after I got it home that it might be poisonous for pets, so it’s out on the porch right now. Once I get the porch screened in for Metaxa, I’ll be planting it in the yard. I have a big planter out front by the street that hides the HUGE AC/Heater and in front of it is a plot of dirt that I might put a few plants in. I have also got my “steel drum” sculptures from my lanai that I may put on the wall out there. I need to get some concrete “hooks” to hang them with – guess I’ll need to make another trip to ACE! Love that place! Got the step ladder and the BONA Mop system for the floors there. BONA is like a swiffer but the pad is washable and the chemical (cleaner) is pet friendly. Discovered this system from a conversation I had with Bette & Suzan. I recently read where the Swiffer product was hurting pets. I never know if that stuff is true – it never seemed to impact my cats – although Domino and Wylie did have some issues. I hope Metaxa is ok. I can’t be sure any of their issues were because of the Swiffer, but who knows.
We also put this up:
This is in the laundry room by the back door. This is the door I use to get into the house from the carport. Bill and Cathy have a door like this, but it is on the “wrong” side of the house so they get into their house through the front door. I don’t think they ever use the side door.
So today, my project is to try to get my printer to work. I’ve been trying to call the number for HPInstant Print and it is always busy. I can’t seem to get any satisfaction out of the On Line service. I really want to use this perfectly good printer but it’s stuck now due to that service. It won’t print. I can scan with it and send the scanned documents to me through email, but that is all I can do with it. If worse comes to worse, I’ll chuck it and buy a new one the next time I go to where ever Office Max is – which I think is in Tucson.
The lights in my kitchen are really bright so in the morning I like to have less light on. I put a little lamp in my kitchen in Naples, but I am using it for my bedside tables now. So I did this instead:
If you look carefully, you can see the little Tiffany Lamp on the counter in the middle. This lamp I put on a timer on my little front porch in Naples. I bought this lamp at an antique mall in Phoenix when I was there with Deb and her sister for the International Women’s Conference a few years back. It was the neatest place. I got that lamp and the Jean jacket that was hanging on the coat rack. I love both of them. I’m glad I found a good place for the Tiffany Lamp.
I’ve been trying to get my printer set up in the house. It won’t print because it is still under the contract with HP Instant Print which was a service to replace cartridges when HP decided they needed to be replaced. Anyway, I never really trusted this service, so I stopped using it. I was able to cancel the service on my ENVY printer but the 8710 Printer was not listed in my account, but wouldn’t print and said I needed to contact HPInstantPrint. I tried to cancel on line and with a phone number. The phone number was always busy when I called it and the on line service was not working either for me. SO – I moved the ENVY printer from Daisy – don’t need it in there now that I have the house – so I set it up and got it working today – now I’m all set! Here it is – I like the size of it better than the 8710:
I need to go now. Thanks for visiting! See you next time, but in the meantime, Be Calm, Be True, Be Silent!

Thanks. I like the date so I know if I read that blog or not. Went to the office today (haven’t been there for at least 10 days. I really felt good there, like going home. That’s when I decided I can’t retire. Not yet. Got the www done with my grandson, Owen. While school is closed, he’s doing some work for Arthrex that high tech company in North Naples. Good for him.. What will you do when all is in place in your home? Did you hang all your pictures on the walls?
