Hello COVID-19 Warriors! HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to all of the fathers out there – you know who you are!
I went way back in my media library to fin d this picture. I couldn’t find a picture in my computer of him. So the other father in our family is:
My brother Jon, enjoying lobster on the Cape when we went on a mini family reunion to Chatham, MA a few years ago. We used to go to the Cape every summer for 2 weeks with my cousins The Peebles.
I have now hit the road to go back to Benson. I have stopped for the night at Las Vegas KOA in New Mexico. It is so cool:
This place is pretty great! Right off Highway 25 in Las Vegas, New Mexico. The view from my windows are:
Here is another view from the cab on the passenger side:
Big Ass Neighbor just drove in:
Luckily the sites are situated so that it doesn’t obscure my view from the window. SWEET!
So I had a great time in Denver with my new friend Susan:
This selfie was taken outside of her townhouse and the angle is weird. Looks like I have the mumps or something, but you get the picture. Susan is 3 years younger than me and about 3 inches taller. We’ve been having a blast. We were able to back (I mean she) Mariah into her storage place on the FIRST TRY! That class was worth the price just to get this to work:
Now you might be wondering what the frisbee is doing on the ground. Well, we learned that in our class. It is the spot for the turn to get into the slot based on the 8 foot rule. You are to measure 8 feet from the center of the rear axle and then you drive the RV up to the frisbee to that spot (I have tape measuring the spot). Then you make a “hard” left and drive forward until the frisbee disappears – then you know you have the rear end moved far enough passed the corner. Next you do a “hard” right and begin to back up. The RV will line up and you can drive down the line of the parking spot. Susan did it on the FIRST TRY! So proud! It was amazing. So then she did this:
She spray painted the spot where we had the frisbee. Now she can get Mariah in there with or without me and the frisbee! I can see why she was concerned about putting her in storage. Not a lot of room between spots. But now that she has done it, she should be able to do it again next time. I’m going to try that trick with Daisy when I bring her back to Benson. I may try to keep her next to my garage after I get her tire fixed. She would shade OTIS2 from the afternoon sun. We’ll see. In the meantime, I’m going to keep her at Bill’s.
So at the Prospect RV Park in Denver (Really Wheat Ridge, CO), they had an owner in a house in the middle of the park. They tried to make things “homey” there. This is what the dump station looked like:
So my big Ass neighbor went away, but this is in its place – looks just like the other one:
It is amazing how many 5th Wheels look the same! I’m so glad I have my Born Free – it’s pretty unique! Plus when Susan & I get together it will be fun to have 2 of us together.
Here is Daisy in Site #3. Very interesting KOA,
On the way out tomorrow there is a bit of a dip in the hard packed road. Daisy will make a bit of a racket! Here is a picture of the layout:
There are families that are just tent camping. There are Class A’s. There are Motorhomes. Class C’s! 5th Wheels. Everything here. Just goes to show you that this life is for everyone! Still glad I have AC, but right now I have a window open for the view with the Fantastic Fan causing some breeze. It’s 85 but is supposed to be in the 50’s tonight. We’ll see!
I guess that’s about all for today. Thanks for visiting on this Father’s Day!
