Today is Saturday, September 28, 2019. I am going to take Otis in to the Jeep Dealer today as early as I can get it there – they open at 7. I had hoped that Steve Kirby found the issue by tightening the air filter hose. But unfortunately, Otis stalled 2 times yesterday. Fortunately, it always seems to be when stopped at a light so it is easy to restart and stays on. I called Bill and he Googled the problem. So I did too later and read some comments from 2015 about the same issue in Jeeps. So at least I’m not alone in this issue, but I am hoping there is a resolution. I had some issues with my first Jeep at the beginning and finally after a while it was running well without any issues. I only owned that Jeep for about a year. So I fully expect that it will be resolved. I really like this little Jeep and look forward to having it work right.

It is fun to drive. I did notice some of the comments in the forum mentioned having trouble in HOT temperatures – well that is a bit disheartening! Time to move to a cooler climate.
So on the other issue I’m dealing with and that is Daisy. Bill suggested that I bring her home and plug her into the house again and see if that gets the A/C to work. I got the new power cord yesterday so I will probably do that tomorrow after church.
My new bike rack arrives on Tuesday and I sold my other rack to Peggy Williams for $40. So I’ll be set to load the bike in the back of Daisy so I don’t need to do this any longer:

But of course that is what it is made for, but it is a little too inconvenient to do that long term. I could put it inside if I was going to leave the rig for a side trip or something and I thought it could be stolen. I will take out the battery when on the rack though. I have the battery out now because it is so hot in the garage. I just don’t think that is “good” for it. I can’t wait for this HOT WEATHER to be over!
I guess I’ll get going now. Wish me luck at the JEEP DEALER. OK I’m back! I drove up to the Jeep Dealer and saw Rudy and Bobby. Bobby talked me through the issue. He said that if there isn’t a “check engine” light on, there is little they can do to diagnose the problem. So he said I need to Google “Top Tier Gas in Collier County” and buy gas there – never use Costco gas so he says! I’ve heard that before about “dirty” gas. So I did Google it and there is a Marathon Gas Station near me on East Tamiami Trail where I should buy my gas. I’ll try that and just deal with the stalling for now. Note to self – they don’t have loaners on Saturdays – just Monday through Friday. I still love the car and I’m just going to deal with it until I get a tank full of clean gas. So I guess I should run the gas tank down and then fill it up with Marathon gas later on. I think that will be in about 5 days. The last time I figured out my gas mileage, it was 18.2 miles per gallon. I hope with better gas I’ll get better gas mileage.

OK so that is a plan. Did I mention that Jim got the “OK” to switch out my windshield at their expense. He’ll get back to me about it to schedule that. So things are cranking along just fine! I really liked Bobby. He is from Atlanta and is very knowledgeable. He has had many years working with Chrysler and knows his stuff – or seems to. I’m going with that!
