Ms. Days Ease RV Life #30

Today is Bill’s Birthday – Happy Birthday Bill – how’d you get SO OLD!!!!!! Wow! 70! I’ll be there next year!

So I’m still at Koreshan State Park. It’s 3:30 PM and we’re inside now in the AC. It has been a great day. We did a bike ride this morning and then we took a long hike down by the river. It is hot, but the trail was really shaded and comfortable. Here is a video of it:

River Trail at Koreshan

So this reminds me of Carolyn again – but so much prettier than some of the trails she did on the PCT. I’m pretty spoiled! Here is the sound of the bamboo:

Bamboo Forest!

We learned yesterday that the man who started Koreshan (I believe his name was “Teeds”) got this bamboo from Thomas Edison. The forest down by the river is huge and really beautiful. I love the sound of bamboo when the wind blows through it. I posted on Facebook that I was here. A friend of mine from Moorings Park who recently retired and is traveling in a 40 foot TT with her husband, said this place is “haunted” and for me to walk down by the river at night. My response was “No thank you!”. But walking through the Bamboo Forest, I can see how it would be really spooky at night. Come to find out that they have a “haunted” weekend here and a bunch of people – the Ranger said 2500 people come for it. They have done it for 6 years. I think it is a “harvest festival”. They have a Farmer’s Market and other booths as well as some program from 5 to 7 one night for the spooky part.

So BEAUTIFUL!

Beautiful Day Down By The River

I love the way this picture caught the blue of the sky in the river. The river itself is pretty brackish and this makes it look so pretty!

Tonight we are going to grill salmon and also zucchini and a portabella mushroom for dinner. Last night we had a “filet” from Aldi’s. It did not grill very well and we ended up throwing it out to the woods for the squirrels. So that is the last time I’ll be buying meat from Aldi’s. The salmon is pretty good, but their meat is awful, plus since I eat very little meat, I want it to be GREAT if that is the case.

Bunny

Bunny right by our rig. Suzee said she saw a Gopher Turtle on her way back from the bath house. She didn’t have her camera however. I’ve seen lots of squirrels here too and I hear lots of birds. Apparently there are no bears because the trash is not bearproofed.

Well I guess that is about it for now. Time to cook dinner. Last night we watched “The Post”. Suzee had never seen it. The DVD works great in here! Thanks for visiting.
