Ms. Days Ease RV Life #4

So today is Friday, August 30, 2019. There is a Hurricane Dorian bearing down on Florida. It’s supposed to hit the east coast of Florida somewhere. Right now there is a bit of a gas crisis here. I have a full tank in Daisy, but only about 120 miles left in Otis. So today my mission is to find gas for Otis. The Racetrack at the corner of Rattlesnake and 951 is empty according to Gas Buddy. Also the 3 stations on 41 on the way to NAC are empty. I think I will be able to find gas somewhere. I was going to wait until I got to Pine Ridge and go to Costco, but I’m not sure I should do that. I’m also debating whether I should put up my shutters. If I do that, I should start doing it in the morning because it gets SO HOT during the day. I’m supposed to go to Intergroup today and I’ll be doing that. I should turn on the TV to follow the weather. I think I’ll do that now. Be right back!

Now it is looking like we won’t be impacted until Monday or Tuesday and bad weather through Wednesday. So I should have no problem getting gas today. I was going to go up to Pine Ridge early so I can get to Costco for gas and I think I’ll still do that and then get some breakfast somewhere. Maybe iHop. It’s been a while since I’ve been there – as in NEVER since I’ve been in Naples.

This picture is of us leaving Sanlan in Lakeland. I would go there again. It was really fun. It was also a nice group of women. Now that I have Daisy, I think I could go there again. I don’t know, I am looking forward to using my Harvest Host membership on my way out to Arizona. We’ll see about that! Well I’m leaving now to try to get gas at Costco. Wish me luck!

I’m back home now & I got gas at the station on the corner of Davis & Santa Barbara on my way to Intergroup. It wasn’t too bad although a guy jumped the line in front of me & a guy made me move my car & then backed up! Doesn’t really matter, I got gas! I went to Publix to get some food for the storm. I think I’m set now. I only have a meeting I need to attend this evening so I’m in pretty good shape. Right now it is thundering & raining & I’m in Daisy. The cats are in the house. I’m interested in seeing what it’s like when it rains out. I just hope the power doesn’t go out while I’m here. It sounds pretty good. The temp was 94 when I got here. It is now 91 with 44% humidity. Listening to music with the little speaker & now blogging with my iPad. Now it is 88. The AC is great! It is now 84 & the rain has stopped & the sun is out! Such is summer in Florida, especially when waiting out a hurricane!
