Ms. Days Ease RV Life #31

Today is Thursday, October 24, 2019. It’s 8AM and I am sitting in Daisy in my driveway. I’ll be going to Artsy Thrift around 10 this morning so I have time to sit in her and enjoy the solitude. I was thinking about bringing Wylie in here while I’m here so I think I’ll go get her. We’ll see how it goes with her in here. I think I’ll comb her first to see if she has any fleas. I’ll be back! She seems to be settled in right now, so I’ll bring her in later. So now I’m listening to Josh Groban on iTunes through my iPad. I now have iTunes on this computer, so I think I’ll have enough music for Daisy. This little speaker works GREAT!

Bluetooth Speaker – Thank you Lily!

Yesterday I was watching TED TALKS and two talks really made sense to me. So I’m going to add them here. The first one is about depression and anxiety. He made a lot of sense!

Depression and Anxiety

It’s all about getting a “tribe”! I feel I have one here with AA friends and the service I do for AA. If I go to Arizona, I’ll need to find the same thing. But I do have YouTube people I follow so that, in my mind, constitutes a “tribe” too. I don’t think I’ll ever be lonely on the road. As long as I have an internet connection, I’ll be happy. But I do know there will be times when signals won’t be like they are here in Naples. Bill and Cathy tell me that all the time. When they go boondocking, they sometimes don’t have cell signals. That could be a little scary I think. Anyway, we’ll figure it out. I just found that on Apple Music, I can play Oldies. I’m now listening to “Good Vibrations”!

So back to Ted Talks. Here is the other great talk about the lies we have come to know. I love what he has to say:

Somehow, this could not be embedded so you’ll need to follow the link. Not sure why that happened. But if you take the time to click the link, I think you’ll enjoy it. It made a lot of sense to me. I see this guy on PBS often. It’s interesting what he has to say.

So back to my camping experience in Daisy at Koreshan. I took a few more pictures. I talked to a neighbor who had a “SMART” car. I asked him about it and he was very willing to give me information. First of all, it can be towed 4 down! And it gets 40 mpg. Plus it can’t weigh much! And also it is a Mercedes engine so it should last a LONG time! He told me he paid $6K for it. It was the first year they made it. He opened up the door and it was really roomy. The nice thing about it as opposed to an electric bike, is that it has A/C and would be dry when it was raining. Now this is really cool! Bill and Cathy have decided to tow their Jeep to NC so we can go on excursions when we drive back to Arizona. Isn’t that GREAT?!

I just turned on the A/C as it is warming up a little in here. I think just having the air move is important, but the temp inside is 79 and that is really comfortable.

Now back to some pictures from yesterday!

The Broken Cabinet

This is the door to storage and it falls down when opened. When if fell it hits this:

The Breaker

I knew there was a weak spot in the cabinet door, but didn’t know why it was there and how it happened and I didn’t ask about it. Well, found out. The door falls down and slams into the black dial (for lack of a better word) and it broke the patch. So Suzee is going to look for a rubber bumper at Home Depot to place over the hole and prevent this from happening again.

I made a list of “issues” we found while camping. Nothing significant really. I put the Backgammon game behind the drivers seat – which is also where I stash the bike battery. I also brought in Trivial Pursuit – I forgot that I had that! So now we can entertain each other rather than use the TV or DVD player – although we watched 2 movies and they were fun. The Post and Postcards from the Edge. When I go to Artsy Thrift, I’m going to look through the CD’s to see if I need to bring those home to play in the CD Changer on the truck. Suzee says that I can put 5 CD’s in the player and I think I might try that for the trip to the Stephen Foster State Park in November. I suppose I could also use the Bluetooth speaker with my music app. I should be able to use that while driving, but the CD player would be better I think.

I think I’ll get going now. I have to get ready to go to “work”. Life is good! Thanks for visiting!
