Ms. Days Ease RV Life #315 Tuesday, February 2, 2021

Good Morning COVID-19 Warriors!  It’s day #327 of the Pandemic for me.  Almost a YEAR!  Wow!  And it isn’t much better.  Still staying home most of the time.  Just going out for groceries.  It’s been cold here so camping isn’t on the agenda either.  We even had snow last week – pictures in my last blog.  Today I woke up to this:

It’s actually prettier than that.  My iPhone doesn’t give it justice – it’s getting better and better – sort of the way sunset gets better in Naples as the sun goes down past the horizon.  It is really beautiful out here!

So today is an exciting day!  I’m picking up Papa Bear in Sierra Vista!  He has been in the shop for a week and a half waiting on parts and the go ahead to get the work done.  They finally got it covered – no money from me – gratefully!  So while I’m in Sierra Vista, I’m going to get my Arizona Driver’s License and my Cashiers Check for Mama Bear.  Next, I’ll set up another walk through at LaMesa and bring her home.  I really hope I get Daisy sold.  I’ve had 25 inquiries!  Most are “low balling” so I just politely tell them no.  Got a response this morning from a guy from California.  At least his area code indicates California, but my area code indicates Florida and of course I’m in AZ so who knows.  I really want her to find a new home with someone who will appreciate her.  At times I think I’m making a mistake, and should have just kept the Jeep and Daisy for a couple of more years.  But, I pulled the trigger on the HIKE, so I’ll be happy once Daisy has a new home.

I’ve been following a guy on YouTube that does dispersed camping.  He has a truck camper like Bill and Cathy, but I think I can tow Mama Bear to most of the places he goes – and it’s always “free” camping.  He tows a little motorcycle to “explore” the areas he goes to.  Here is one he suggested yesterday:

Since it is so close, I thought I’d drive out there and check it out in Papa Bear to see if I could bring Mama Bear out there to boondock.  His channel is Dispersed Camper Man.

I’ve also discovered Camp Host .org.  It’s a site that shows campgrounds needing Camp Hosts.  There are a few places here that may be interesting, but that may be later in my journey.  Right now, I’m still looking to do some more traveling and meeting up with Susan from Denver.   But one thing that is interesting is the fact that there are campgrounds near Mt. Lemmon for my “summer” escapades to get out of the HEAT of Benson.  Plus I kind of plan to go visit Bill and Cathy in Yellowstone.  Susan wants to go there too.  So we should be thinking about that trip.  Plus I have reservations in March for Palm Springs CA in a Thousand Trails park.

This is the place I think I’ll go check out so Bill and Cathy and I can take Mama Bear out here.  I’ll need to have some lessons in backing up first.  The first time I’ll be backing her up is when I bring her home from Tucson and I need to put her here:

That’s going to be my first challenge.  I’ve been watching YouTube to check out how to back up.  Learned “the scoop”!  I remember this video from when I had OLIVI@:

So my trip was a success to Sierra Vista today.  Went to the bank & got the cashiers check.  They took the money from my checking account instead of my savings account, so that caused all types of havoc in the bank.  I finally spoke with a person & they said it will all work out but I might be charged an overdraft fee.  If I call back & explain the issue, they should credit that.  So now I wait until everything gets settled.  Never thought I would have to check that!  Boy oh boy!

So tomorrow I’m picking up Mama Bear.  Bill is going with me.  Cathy is sitting this one out.  Our appointment is at 1:00 PM.  I can’t decide whether to have Bill just drive my truck & pull her home.  I’ll pray about it to make the right choice.
