Today is Monday, October 28, 2019. I am counting the days until I leave on my cross country trip in Daisy with Bill and Cathy. Only 13 days to go. I’m thinking about food for the trip. I’ve decided to cook that chicken dish in my Instant Pot and then I’m resurrecting that super Chili recipe. I think I can do the whole thing in the instant pot, but I may just do it in the slow cooker instead. We’ll see.
So there are a couple of pictures from camping I wanted to add. The first one is of Suzee in Daisy:

It was a great trip. Very enjoyable. It’s good to have company, but I think I’ll enjoy the solitude also. Here is a picture of me:

Oh – and the BIG NEWS with Carolyn is that she got a new puppy to travel with her. His name is Huckleberry – Huck for short. He is adorable!
Such a cute puppy! Congratulations!
So I did a little video yesterday in Daisy. Here it is!
I’m trying to figure out what food I want to bring. One thing that is happening, is that if I leave a light on, it drains the battery. I did it this morning while visiting Daisy. I forgot to turn off the master switch yesterday & I needed to run the engine in the cab to get the generator to start. It didn’t take long for it to charge enough to get it to start. But then I wonder about the solar panel trickling the batteries. The panel is green, but when the main switch screeches, it turns red, then yellow then green again after turning on the engine. So now I will TRY to get into the habit of turning off the main switch when I leave. I’ll do that now as I’m going to leave now. I’ll be back later & add to this post from home.
OK so now I am going to RANT. I was going to put this on Facebook but decided against it so here goes. I booked a flight to Tucson on November 25th from Fort Myers. That was my original plan. So when Bill and Cathy said they were driving to North Carolina and then back to Arizona at the beginning of November, I canceled my flight so we could caravan back to Arizona together. I had a credit for $202.00. I just decided to book my one way flight back to Ft. Myers from Tucson on Nov. 21st so that I can be back for the Gratitude dinner. So I was going to use my credit. Come to find out that my $202 credit was really only $2 because United charges $200 fee to change the flight. I think that is OUTRAGEOUS. I was speaking with a guy at Expedia named Oscar and he was clearly in INDIA trying to do this credit thing. It was a JOKE! So I now booked a one way flight back for $188 including flight insurance, although that was a waste of money now that I think of it because if I had to cancel it would be the same thing again. Oh well, it’s only money but don’t you think that is RIDICULOUS? Anyway, at least I have a flight back to Naples with one day of rest between our last day on the road. After I get back to Naples, I’ll need to decide when to go back out to pick up Daisy and what I want to do about that. I’ll need to make provisions for the cats again if I go out for an extended time. I’ll just need to figure that out. I’m just glad that I’m going to Meditation tonight to get over this stupid issue. UPDATE: I called again and got the same story – $200 fee! Ridiculous! I’m still mad about it!
