Today is Sunday, November 10th & here I am!

We didn’t sleep all that well. Up a lot & in bed early, but I got some good sleep. As soon as it gets a little lighter out, I’ll take off from Sebring to my next destination-Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park. I’ll be able to plug in so it will be a quiet night – no generator. I ran it all night because when I turned it off, I lost power & was afraid the fridge wouldn’t work. I think I’ll take a screwdriver to my house batteries. I hope I haven’t ruined them by letting them go dry, but I couldn’t open the holes with my fingers so was thinking they were self contained. It’s light now so I’ll get dressed & try that. It will be interesting to see how much gas I used over night!
Full Disclosure! I had been afraid to tackle the batteries so since I had that issue yesterday, I decided to take the screwdriver to the cell covers. So of course the cells were dry as a bone. I put a whole gallon of distilled water in them & they could use more. Here I am at Publix buying another gallon of distilled water:

Now I’ll see if they will hold a charge. I’ll probably need new batteries but I’ll wait to get with Bill & Cathy to do that. So this RVing is not for the faint of heart or the low pocketbook! Let me see what batteries go for. I’ll be right back! They range from a low of $89 to over $250 each. Looks like Batteries Plus has the best price. Let me see if there is a store near Santa Rosa. Of course I’m hoping I’m not too late with the water. Ugh!
The good news about driving today, perhaps the traffic won’t be too bad because it’s Sunday. I had no issues yesterday. So I’m curious about how much gas the generator used last night. I’ll go start the engine. Less than a quarter of a tank! Now that the engine is running, I hear the LP gas on the fridge. All systems go!
I’m off at 8:30. Fridge is on, water pump off. GPS set!
So my hope about no traffic held true except for around Mickey Mouse Land. Bumper to bumper! It took me from 8:30 to 3:30 to get here. But now it’s 5:15 and I learned something new, by way of Brother Bill. The fantastic fan has a thermostat on it. It is set for a certain temperature and will turn off when it hits that. Who knew? I thought I was having a power surge or something. I have a lot to learn!

I am going to go out now and take a few pictures of my site here. I did notice that they raked the site. It is a pull through and it is beautiful. I did not put out the awning, but I did put in the extra gallon of distilled water in the batteries. So I’ll be back. Oh yea, I made a video, lets see if that is finished yet.
I think that’s if for today. I’ll start again tomorrow. Time for reading & relaxing with the kitties!

Good morning. Read the manual!!! No sleep because of generator noise? No plug in?
