Ms. Days Ease RV Life #47

Good Morning Everyone. Today is Monday, November 18, 2019. I am currently set up at Jim Hogg Park in Georgetown, TX. It is once again an COE (Army Corps of Engineers) Park. It has electric and water for my site. We are located on the lake side.

Here is a picture of Daisy on her site:

This was taken from Bill’s site toward mine. I love the fact that the picnic table was under a roof. That is great. When we came in, there were families on both sites beside me and they were tent camping. Yesterday, they were gone so we were mostly alone again.

This is our fire by the lake:

Our Beautiful Fire!

I really enjoy sitting by the fire. Being in cooler weather is so nice. No more 90 degree weather with 90% humidity!

So this morning, I have Metaxa in my lap. I think she is getting a little bit more acclimated to the rig. She enjoys looking out the window and jumps up to the bed above the cab. Once I get the pictures and the clock out of that area in Arizona, I’ll set up the bed up there. Now it’s a matter of deciding where to have my head. I think it is big enough to sleep in either direction. If I go long wise over the drivers side, the other side of the bunk can be used to store things like extra paper towels and the cooler. The cooler is up there now.

Kitties this morning

This morning, I’m hearing a funny little sound that I haven’t heard before. It has happened 3 times. I turned off the heater for the hot water and since I did that, the sound has happened. It is coming from the back of the rig and that is the only thing that changed. Maybe it is just the sound of the lines cooling down? I’ll have to ask Bill when he gets up. I’m up earlier than they get up, but I think I go to bed much earlier than they go to bed.

We are taking off today and driving to Ft. Stockton RV Park in Ft. Stockton, TX. It used to be a KOA, don’t know why it isn’t that any longer, but Bill and Cathy probably know. We will be there one night and then we’ll be going to Las Cruces, New Mexico and then our final day will take us into Benson Arizona!

So this is Sunrise through my back window today:

I still don’t have the habit of taking pictures in landscape so I still need to edit the pictures! Anyway, if you look at this picture, there is a “magnifying” square on this window. Before Ken installed the back up camera, the other owners would use that magnifying square to back up the rig. I am so glad I have a back up camera!!!!! Anyway, as I sit at my table doing this blog, I can watch the sunrise through the window and the magnifying square shows the whole thing – it is really neat. My phone can’t take a picture to show what I’m seeing, but trust me, it is really cool!

I’m going to close out for now. I need to get prepped for leaving and put this away. I’ll be back after we land again!

We are now settled next to each other at an X KOA campground in Ft. Stockton, TX. Here we are at a rest stop for lunch.

Rest Stop 2a

After lunch I was afraid I hadn’t turned off the water pump. So all the way to this stop, I was “concerned” about it. Bill told me it would not be a problem, so now I know!

Rest Stop 2

I thought this was interesting. Most rest stops don’t have much to offer, but these big sculptures were pretty neat.

So along the route, I filmed this little bit of scenery. I bet you didn’t know there was a Pyramid in Texas! It’s called Table Top Mountain!

Cathy made the best Pasta Fagioli tonight without the pasta! It was made with white beans, and kidney beans and Italian sausage. So great on a cool night.

So today, I kept thinking that the rig was vibrating. Bill came in and couldn’t feel anything, so we came to the conclusion that I just was shaking from the road. I hadn’t had that happen before so it was weird. It’s like when you have “sea legs” after sailing. That always happened to me when I used to go sailing in the Caribbean. Now that I’ve had dinner and am back in the rig for the night it seems to have passed. So that was another new experience.

I guess that’s about it for now. I’ll sign off and I’m going to do a little reading. Life is good. Cats are calm and content, so I guess I am too! Thanks for visiting!

I see Otis has a travel companion. All your motor home discoveries are very interesting. Has any other camper wanted a tour of your rig?
