Today is Wednesday, November 20, 2019 and I am in Deming, NM my last night on the road on this maiden voyage in Daisy with Otis, Laurel & Hardy, Metaxa and Wylie. Of course my expert gurus are here too, Bill and Cathy. I can’t thank them enough for being so open and loving in this endeavor. It’s been super.
I follow people on the internet and one of the people I follow is Tom Kepler of Green Goddess Glamping. He travels in a tiny teardrop camper that is bright GREEN. I found him when I was traveling with Olivi@ and we’ve emailed back and forth. This is a quote I stole from his blog:
“Loneliness is marked by a sense of isolation. Solitude, on the other hand, is a state of being alone without being lonely and can lead to self-awareness.” I think this is what this journey is to me right now.
This morning I’m up at 5:15 and blogging listening to a radio station out of Deming, New Mexico. 94.3 FM. Listening to different music – Imagine Dragons???? WHAT? Anyway it is interesting and different, but news is the same at the half hour, so I feel like I’m in Naples in my den. Super cool! And by the way, Metaxa is sleeping in my lap – that doesn’t happen in Naples!
So my friend Diana sent me this picture she took this morning! It’s amazing!

I love the way the mist is in the picture and the sun is trying to burn the bush. Just beautiful, thanks Diana!
OMG – the radio station just announced the school lunch menu today in the Deming schools! How long has it been since I’ve heard that? Maybe from when I was in Darien, CT as a kid! It’s a different world here! Now they are talking Turkey! How to thaw out a turkey for Thanksgiving! 30 minutes per pound in cold water……………keep in the wrapping it comes in yada, yada! Never thaw it by running hot water on it.
So the sun is up right now and we have a bunch of water around our rigs. It isn’t raining right now and I see sky between the clouds, so I hope the rain has stopped for the morning, but I must say, the rain sounded great last night as it was hitting the rig. Very relaxing! Plus I experienced my first HAIL storm!
So I was looking at my Credit Card that I use for gas and my balance is up to $580. So that is how much I’ve spent on gas going from Florida to Arizona and it’s not quite over. But it is SO WORTH IT! Daisy has performed amazingly and I feel so safe driving her on the highway with all those trucks! It can get a little white knuckling, especially through El Paso – really BAD. But a friendly RVer here in New Mexico told us a way to bypass it. Luckily Cathy was there so she can help me with that for the trip back. I’d love to bypass El Paso!
Bill and Cathy have a flooded site. Mine is mostly dry – I’ve already walked around my rig this morning and could do it without getting my feet wet.

So I remembered to hold my phone in landscape mode, but the picture was upside down so now I need to figure out which way will take the picture correctly. Always something to work on!
So I just remembered I have a Christmas Tree in my rig…………

So I think I’ll stop for a while and continue this later when we’re in Benson and I’m settled in my new site for a month or so. More will be revealed. Thanks for visiting!
I am now in my site in Benson, right around the corner from my brother’s house in Site #203. I have FULL HOOKUPS! My view is OF THE MOUNTAINS! WHAAAAAAT! Here are a couple of pictures from my Tiny Home on Wheels – Daisy!

And the kitties like it too:

So here is my video of my final border crossing:
We went to Walmart today – such civilization! Bill set me up with new sewer hoses and now I’m connected as a “full hook up”. We pumped out the black tank and flushed it. We filled up the freshwater tank and dumped the other two. So now I’m set for quite a while. We’re working on length of time I have before dumping. Stuff to know when you are staying in an RV! So exciting!
Cathy and Bill are so happy to finally be in their new home! I love it. It is so nice and they have a super shed (aka Man Cave – although Cathy exercises in there also). They have great aluminum awnings so their Jeep and truck camper can be under cover and they have a great big side yard too, because they are on a corner. It is so cool!
I think that is about it for tonight. Thanks again for visiting. The adventure continues!
