Ms. Days Ease RV Life #74

Today is Friday, January 3, 2020. I am back from my first camping trip and I had an amazing time camping! I put a video on yesterday about the campsite. And now I have a short one of the hike we took along Foothills Loop Trail. Our Ranger was Harley and there was also a volunteer that was on the hike with us that spoke about volunteering and being in his rig. I have the name of the volunteer co-ordinator and I think I’ll call him and talk about opportunities there for me to live “cheaply – maybe free?” and volunteer at the State Park. This may be a way for me to “ease” into volunteering at Yellowstone. Get a taste of it closer to home.

Hiking the Foothills Loop Trail

I am so glad I went on this hike with a group. It took 2 hours and I’m not sure I would have enjoyed it as much by myself. It was pretty intense for someone like me that hasn’t done much hiking as this video shows – at the end!

More hiking!

These signs were hand done by a volunteer. We passed a few other hikers on the trail and they were very complimentary of how nice the trails were. Not having hiked much at all, that is great to hear – it’s always nice to work in a place that people appreciate. Like Yellowstone!

Here is a picture of my first “outside” picnic in Arizona at Kartchner Caverns State Park in Benson, AZ.

So today, Bill helped me fill my LP Gas Tank. I had him drive Daisy. It took 10 gals of a 23 gallon tank and cost $30. Then I went to the grocery store to be sure I had enough food for the kitties while I’m in Naples. So now I have enough LP gas for the furnace if it gets really cold while I’m gone and there is enough food for them too.

This is the first time Daisy has ventured out from CT RV Resort. I’ve been thinking about staying out here without a “sticks and bricks”. I’ve been in Daisy for 2 months now and I really enjoy being in her without all the “stuff” I have in the house. I have everything I need. So I’ve been researching another RV Park here in Benson. It is called SKP Saguaro Co-Op of Park. It is for Escapees of which I am a member. I called them and they only charge $.13 per KWH compared to $.17 here. Also the monthly fee is $350 compared to $500 and the members there do more – get out more and do things. So after this month is up, I may move there. I will also have my Jeep so I’ll be able to get places without having to “break camp” every time. I am pleasantly surprised that I feel like this and enjoy the living in my “tiny home on wheels”. I’m only concerned about how much exercise the kids are getting which is next to nothing. I think once the weather gets a little warmer, I can put up the CLAM and let them out there in their playpens and at least they will have more of a view and things to keep them interested. Metaxa is the biggest concern. Wylie is older and could care less!

Well, I’m going to go out and take a walk to get some exercise. Thanks for visiting. I’ll be back again soon.

Looks like there wasn’t much of a line at Wendy’s. You could have camped there for free.
