Ms. Days Ease RV Life #83

Good Morning everyone! It is Tuesday, January 21, 2020. It is RAINING in Arizona! It sounds so peaceful inside Daisy today. It is now 8AM and I’ve been up since 5. I still don’t seem to be able to “sleep in”, but that’s OK. I’m getting enough sleep.

So I’ve decided to pay the $500 and get on the “Hot List” here in Benson. It’s going to be a couple of years before I get a chance to become a “leaseholder” and that will allow me to travel around the State to get to know my new home State. I’m excited. I walked around the park yesterday and took a few pictures of this beautiful place, plus I watched a video of a YouTube couple – Technomadia – who I’ve been following have just moved in here. They have a plot right across from the Clubhouse. Here is a link to their video:

Technomadia

It’s a little slow this morning, I’ll put it on later when it opens up.

SO here are a couple of pictures of around here:

Train Set – like the Ardrey’s

When I went on a walk, I thought I would take pictures of interesting yards. It is such a different feeling from the way Florida does yards. I really love this train set. It would be fun to see the train run!

So yesterday, I set up my chair and table by my rig. The door was open and the screen door was closed. I’ve decided to call the stairway by the screen door our “porch”. Metaxa sits there when the door is open and it is so sweet. I’ll try to get a picture of her next time I’m able to do that. That is one thing I feel bad about for the kitties. No big LANAI for Metaxa to chase lizards and frogs. But that will come one day. I’ll get myself a little Casita and put a screened porch on it. It will be fun to do that! All of the Casitas here are unique. I saw one yesterday that looked like a Pueblo and I think I would like one like that. When I went on my 3 hour tour the other day with Betty Lenneman, she showed me her Casita. It had a bathroom downstairs with a desk and then there were a couple of stairs up to a second level that had a dinette table that looked out on the mountains. Below the second level, there was STORAGE! As the video from Technomadia mentioned, all of the rows of RV’s here are raised up so you are looking “over” the lower level and not into the RV in front. It’s awesome!

While sitting out, my across the street neighbor Chuck came by with this:

Stargazing Gift from Chuck

He is the one that has a male dummy on his front porch. I thought that was interesting so I said, so you’re the one with your “brother” sitting on the porch. He told me that his wife recently died, so he was cleaning a few things out and was wondering if I wanted this along with a diary for traveling. I said I would love the stargazing “planisphere”. Bill showed me an “app” that opens up and will give me the name of the star in the sight, and this will just help also. I can’t wait until it’s a “dark sky” to use it. I think it will work here in the park, because I have not seen any street lights.

Also you can see my solar charger and I was charging my phone at the time. I also saw the RV Cleaner at the park yesterday and I left a message for him to stop by and give me a quote on washing and waxing Daisy. Didn’t hear back from them. Maybe sometime. I’m sure they are busy!

So another thing that happened yesterday was I mentioned in the office about not being able to get my TV to work. So guess what, a guy came by who showed me how to program it. I forgot his name, but he told me he worked for the phone company in MN and he and his wife go there in the summer. I needed to put one of the items on “cable” and then there was another thing that needed to be put on and I can’t remember what that was, but now that it is programmed, I think it will work no matter which site I’m on. And another thing, there was “closed captioning” on the TV. I figured out how to get rid of that with the remote, so I was very pleased with that.

So here is another picture I took on my walking tour yesterday:

Library at SKP

The books are arranged by last name of author. I picked up a book called: Run for your Life by James Patterson. They also have a ton of DVD’s that may be borrowed. Additionally, there are so many other activities happening here. This is a picture of the activities here everyday:

January 18 to 26, 2020

I’m excited about going to the movie tomorrow night. It’s Downton Abby – the Movie. It starts at 6PM for snacks and then the movie starts at 6:30PM. You can bring your own comfy chair to sit in, so I think I’ll take my camp chair and water. I think they sell tacos or hot dogs each week. This week is taco night. Everything is FREE here – (not sure if the food costs) but the movie is FREE!!

In the tour, they told me that all of the equipment is available to all of the people here to use. They have table saws, welding equipment and many other things. Everything is available. Also there is a bunch of other free things. Cinder blocks, wood rails, and other landscaping items. They also will sell you stones for your yard too. It’s really cool!

Here is another picture from around the park:

ESCAPEE

Here is another thing that they do here too: Reminds me of Orchid Terrace:

BINGO

I may try to play BINGO, but I’m not sure I’m ready for that yet!

So I just got an email from my gynecologist and was told I owed $110. But it was a bit of a surprise because it was a year earlier in 2018 and my insurance only paid $89 toward $215. That stinks – never had that problem before. I guess it is a new system and it’s back billing! It was funny, I got a reminder to get a physical, but when I called to set it up, they told me that insurance wouldn’t pay every year, but every other year. I guess I’ll need to get a new doctor out here. Eventually!

So I did get one thing done this morning that was productive, beside this blog, I applied for a Volunteer Position at Kartchner. I was thinking about Kyle with his tent camping this weekend, and with this rain today, I wonder if he cut it short. But he is really young, so it probably wouldn’t bother him. I know I would not be happy with the rain, but I wouldn’t be tent camping anyway. But here is proof:

Volunteer Application Acknowledgment

So Bill Strenkert, I used you as my reference. Kyle will probably call you one of these days. Just a head’s up. He told me I needed 3 references so I guess I’ll use Bill and Cathy for the others if it comes to that. We’ll see whether I’ll need them since he has met me face to face.

I’m going to end this now. I’ve been doing this all morning and now I want to read my new James Patterson Book. Thanks for visiting!
