Ms. Days Ease RV Life #92

Good Morning Everyone!  Today is Friday, February 7, 2020.  I am happily sitting in Daisy with the door open and the screendoor open to the sunshine.  It’s about lunch time and I thought I’d do a little blogging before I take a nice long walk out into the desert.  It’s been really cold the last few days, but it never snowed like it had threatened to do.  TUG – Thank you God!  Anyway, I did finally do this:

Bought a sleeping bag for $25 at Walmart.  I don’t think it’s the best one you can get, but I think it will help a lot.  We’ll find out tonight when it gets chilly again.

Now that it is lunch time, I try to feed Wylie and Metaxa around 2 PM so they don’t get too hungry as the day goes into night.  I only feed them soft food once a day, but there is hard food out for them at all times.  Anyway, as you probably know, my CATS RULE, so around 12 or so, Wylie begins to bug me and wants to eat.  So she keeps poking at me and trying to get me to feed her.  So I did this:

So I think if you look closely, you can see my face in the computer screen and Wylie sitting on the “porch”.  So it is warm enough to sit outside and blog without being bothered by Wylie walking all over the keyboard.  I know, I know – who is running the household afterall.  The cats of course and if you’ve had a pet, you know what I’m talking about, although I think I’m controlled more by my pets than most people (right Suzee?).  But it’s who I am – trying to be “authentic” here!  So anyone reading this is going to know how really crazy I am, but I’m having fun and I think that is all that matters.

Yesterday I went to Kartchner Caverns and had the “tour” with Kyle the volunteer co-ordinator and signed up to volunteer on Saturdays right now.  That will give me the rest of the week to do some camping if I want.  So baby steps.  But this is all of the GEAR I got as a volunteer:

The hat is a little bit big so I’m not sure I’ll be wearing that, but you never know!  The shirt is a nice POLO shirt with short sleeves.  But the BEST THING is the fleece lined windbreaker!  I know I’ll be wearing that A LOT!  The first day I’m “working” is the 15th since we have plans tomorrow to go to the Art Fair, and the first time I work I’ll be doing computer tests so I can handle money which is what I’ll be doing at the front gate or at the front desk when I go in.  My shift begins at Noon and goes to 5PM.  There is an APP on my phone:

So all I need to do is enter in my ID number and I’m punched in and then at the end of the shift I can log out!  It totals up my hours.  So far I’ve got 1.5 hours “on the books” from my “tour” with Kyle.  The great thing about being a “local” volunteer, they don’t give you specific hours if you don’t want them.  I think I’m just going to start with 5 hours a week right now.  Once I sell my property in Florida and get settled out here, that may be all I’ll want to do.  But I can call in and work if Kyle can use me.  So we’ll see how that goes.  I think I’m going to like this volunteering since there is no “pressure”.  They are just happy that I’m willing to work as little or as much as I wish.  LOVE THAT!

I guess that’s about all for now.  I’m going to go for a nice hike in the desert.  I’ve been cooped up in Daisy lately since it’s been so cold recently.  I’ll try to get my 10K steps in today.  It’s been a while!  Thanks for visiting.  See you next time!

It’s good to be busy and around other people. Just sayin. Keeps me out of the “home”.

Hey there, I love Wylie in the doorway. As you know when I was with Kids they didn’t meow. They or she has you trained! Thought you were going to have that furnace adjusted. You dont need to be cold you need to be cozy and enjoying every bit of rv living…I saw Diana at work and I think we’ll do another mtg. Sun. I finally got 50 miles on my bike. Bettys so kind..if it’s real cold she drives me to work. My Aunt Jane took her last breath this am at the age of 97. My mom’s brothers wife. He died at 94 so somewhere in the family are good genes. They were the best. My Dr visit showed good results. Chest cat scan good …heart valve may be constricted a bit so next is a cardio with a stress test. No more smoking and I’m back on track again. Any interests in your house yet? Have fun and be safe…until next time…😚❤🏜🚲
