Olivi@ & Otis RV Life #28

Good Morning Everyone,

So I’ve just had the best experience with ARB. ARB is my awning that got damaged at Kissimmee Prairie when the wind storm came up in the middle of the night. I did not have it tied down so it fell over and one of the poles bent and the cover could not be closed so I bungee corded it for the trip home. That worked fine. Anyway, I contacted the company on Monday when I returned and told them I needed a new pole, I talked to a really nice person and he said he would send one out. Then I got an email mentioning that a weather event would not be covered by warranty. So I wrote back and said I would be happy to pay for a new pole. Well low and behold, I received one yesterday (one day later) and it was “Free”. I think. Time will tell. Here is a picture of the bent pole:

So now I’m all set to use the awning again. Plus I spent the $200 to buy the Delux Tent Room that fits on it.

Here is a video about it:

This tent isn’t as pretty as this one:

I’m trying to sell it as I mentioned before in my last blog. Today, I’m going to call the Tear Drop Shop and ask if they want it back and how much they would give me for it. I don’t have much faith that will work. But I could also sell it at Gerzeny’s maybe too! It’s a thought.

Here is another picture of the great sunset over the Prairie:

I have to stay home this morning to wait for COMCAST. My TV Box got fried in the power outage the other night. I don’t really care that much – TV is just a diversion for me. I like to eat dinner and watch TV at the same time. Last night, the Grapevine Meeting didn’t happen so I decided to go to Chili’s for dinner. I had a steak with avocados for 9 points. It was really pretty good. I sat at the bar and ate it. I’ll go to Carrabba’s next time.

Now I’m going to upload a video of the fire we had: That reminds me to look on AMAZON to buy Fire in a Bag. I’ve just found out that Food Angels can get the benefit of my shopping on Amazon/Smile. I was giving $$ to the Humane Society, but now I’m giving it to Food Angels and FCC. I just spent $200 on the tent, so that must mean some money for them. Wonder how that works? Anyway, back to the fire:

I’m learning a lot about uploading videos from YouTube. It’s pretty easy. Now today, I’m going to work on a “BLOG” for Suzan. I don’t think she’ll sit with me to do it, but if I send her a sample, perhaps she’ll go with it. I’m going to use Go Central with GODADDY since I’ve got FileZilla to work. The old WP website is working. All I had to do was change my password. I learned that in a video from YouTube.

So here are a few other unique pictures from Kissimmee:

Okeechobee

Look – my old VW in the picture! Forget what I had named her.

Then this sign says it all:

Be a Man, Buy Land

We went shopping in this supermarket. They had amazing bakery items and a buffet of Mexican food. Mexican music playing in the background. It was an experience:

The trip to Kissimmee was just amazing. Each time I go camping, I find out more and more what I want to do with the camper and camp. Pretty soon, it will be “old hat” but right now, it is still so exciting. Every trip has great memories. Oh yeah, here is another picture of the wildlife:

Moccasin

Bette saw it in the street and avoided it. Then we went back to get a picture of it. We also saw a wild hog in our camp one morning. Suzan alerted me of it and when I opened my door to look, it ran away and we couldn’t get a picture of it. Maybe next time. We’re going again in October at a NEW MOON to see the dark sky with all of the people who bring their telescopes. That will be fun.

Our next trip will be to the RV Women Rally. We’re staying at a campground about 10 miles from their camp because there was no room for us together there. We’re going to try it and Suzan and Bette are not bringing the dogs. It should be fun!

Here is the itinerary:

We leave on Thursday, March 7th and stay until the 10th.

I think I’ll end this now. I may go out for a “walk” before the Comcast guy comes and before it gets too hot. Thanks for visiting. See you next time!
