Olivi@ & Otis RV Life #29

Hello Everyone,

I am doing this blog in Olivi@ in my garage, on my iPad. I just switched to my HOME BROWN WiFi. I hope it will stay on that one, because I don’t want to keep losing what I add here. It isn’t staying on it for some reason, but is using my printer WiFi instead. I may go get my computer and use that to continue but I’m going to keep going for a while, because I want to add stuff from my pictures on this because it is easier. First of all I am very excited about this:

The ARB Delux Tent

It cost a little over $200 and I did this with it today:

Tent Camping in the garage

I put it up all by myself, using paint cans to hold the tent poles in place! There are so many zippers that it gets confusing. But I know it will be great at the Campground to give me extra space to live in. It will be fun to set up the string lights & make it fun! Here is another view with the flap open:

Flaps Open

Now I want to upload a video of Wylie checking out the new tent. Let’s see if I can do that:

Wylie is so brave!

So I tried to connect my iPhone to my computer so I could upload a picture to this post without sending it to my email. It didn’t work – or lets just say I don’t know how to do it, so I’m back to emailing them. But I’m going to send it to my gmail account. I’m trying to get rid of Earthlink so I don’t have that $27 a month charge. I think I’m just going to cut the cord on it and let the chips fall where they might. I’m giving myself until June to have everything switched over. Anyway, here is the picture I wanted to upload about my tent:

Neatly Packed Tent

You will never see the tent packed up as neatly again. I’m going to try to get it packed well to put in the bag, but I doubt I’ll have the patience to do it quite this nicely. Of course, that is a great challenge and since it is in the garage and there are no “elements” to get in my way, I might be able to do it. Time will tell! I’ll take a picture of it when I pack it up for the first time!

Next I got this beautiful thing for $9.00……

Wind Break

It folds up flat and fits in a nice little bag that fits in the shelf where I have all of my little storage items – the lemonade containers. Now I can cook even when there is a bit of a wind. Plus it will keep the wall from getting splattered.

Our next adventure is over the weekend of March 7 to 10. We are going to meet up with RVWomen. I think I put the schedule of events in my last blog. It should be an interesting weekend. Suzan said it is a 4 hour drive! So that is the longest drive yet. I just hope we get an early start. I am excited about it now. I think next week I’ll go in to tell Chris that I’m quitting Fresh Market. I just don’t want to be bothered by working when I want to do what I want to do when I want to do it. But then again, I better just wait to figure out if I owe some taxes. But really, it isn’t a lot of money. I did get a check today, which was just 10 hours worth and it ended up being a little over $100. It may be more trouble than it’s worth. I do like the discount because there are a few things I like to buy there. We’ll see.

So I went out last week and bought some FLEECE at Jo-Ann’s Fabrics. I was cold in Kissimmee with just my cotton quilt. I’ll be taking that along too, but my fleece will make a big difference. I believe:

Inside Olivi@

Uy trips.

I think I’ll end this one now and go out to Olivi@ and read a little before I go to bed. It will feel like camping…….a little!

Bye for now. See you next time! Thanks for visiting!

UPDATE: Sunday, February 23, 2019

So, I made up the tent like I would have it at the campground. It is a “GAME CHANGER” for me! It lets me hang out in a room twice the size of Olivi@. I can fit the entire rug in it. I’m bringing the wooden tray table and also, the purple GV end table. I can set up the coffee maker on that and I will be able to hang out in the dark and make coffee first thing in the morning without feeling cramped and scared about spilling the coffee in Olivi@. I went to Sunshine hardware yesterday and bought this:

Lantern

This lantern is really cool. It takes 3 D batteries (note to self – get more D batteries). It has 3 illuminations. It is waterproof and can be lit under water for 3 hours – so they say. Hopefully I won’t need to test that! I put this on the tray table and it lights up the entire tent. Then I also have the string lights and the Flamingo lights for lights.

So today I have a couple of exciting things happening. After church, I have John Butler coming by to do this:

Bike Rack

I finally have EVERYTHING I need for camping. At least for the moment! I have extra tent poles coming so I can put out the awning from the tent and also some extra tie downs for the awnings and tent. Next, Ralph and John Whiting are golfing so John said he would bring Ralph by and we can walk the awning around to the other side of Olivi@. I’ve decided I want it on the other side of the camper. This way, I can get in to Olivi@ from the right door. The bed is in the way of the other door. So in the morning, if I remember to put it there, I can use the step stool to climb out of bed and get coffee! I’ll be putting Olivi@ on Otis and show her off to the neighbors.

I also have a woman who wants to come see the Pahaque tent and hope that she wants it. Depending on when she is available to come by it will either be at my house or over at FSW. I sure hope she buys it. It will pay for the bike rack and the new tent.

So today I took my garage camping tent down. It took me 21 minutes to clear out the tent and get it disconnected. So this is the first time I wrapped it up. I lost the other tie – I’ll have to find that. Anyway, my first attempt:

First Tent Down

Not bad. I think it will get better each time I do it. I will need to have good weather to do this. Especially if it is wet for some reason. We’ve been told to think about taking the tent down the day before we leave to give it time to dry out – but of course that depends on the weather.

So tomorrow, I’ll do a blog on how this exciting Sunday goes. Thanks again for visiting.
