Olivi@ & Otis RV Life #30

Good Morning everyone,

So, I didn’t sell my tent on Sunday. I found out that if I wanted to ship it to Texas, it would be an additional $100! WOW! Needless to say, that isn’t happening so I’ll keep trying to sell it locally. I think it will sell eventually, like my TRIKE! It finally sold a week or so ago!

So this morning I did this:

Sharing

Metaxa is so cute. Each morning she comes over and decides she needs to share my chair with me. Now she is taking up most of the chair and I’m sitting on the front of the seat practically falling off, but it is just too cute to do anything about, so I’ll try to stay seated and continue the blog.

So to continue about Sunday. I got my awning changed to the other side of Olivi@. Ralph and John came over and helped me and John Butler do it. I’m going to miss being able to camp in the garage, but maybe I could just move Olivi@ to the other side of the garage and leave Otis out in the driveway. That is a thought! I have to say, sitting in the tent in the garage was so cool. I can’t wait to take it camping on the 7th. Betty, Suzan and I are going to try an “RVWomen” Rally in a place called “Rainbow Springs”. It is north of Naples by about 4 hours, all the way up 75. No back roads this time. I’m going to listen to NPR on Sirius XM, or to Audible – Becoming – by Michelle Obama. I’m enjoying her book and she is reading it, so it’s pretty cool. I think I’ll continue with Serius XM because I should be able to get the stations anywhere I am camping. At least that is what I envision.

I need to get going right now. Will continue later after we do “Ripple”.

So I was all excited about the bike rack for my camper. Here it is:

Bike Rack

As you can see, it reaches WAY UP! Far too high for me to reach. So after having John do the adjustment: See next picture:

Rack Does Not Fit

The foot of the rack is supposed to fit over the crank and be screwed in the 3 screws. It did not work – wouldn’t fit because of the aluminum bar, so we put it on the rack behind the crank. It was loose and we thought it would work, but by the time we put all the pieces together, it was clear that I wouldn’t be able to reach up to it. So I returned it. Love AMAZON – so easy to return stuff – just go in and say you want to return it, so I repacked it and taped it together and took it to UPS. DONE! Now after speaking with Bette, I think I’ll just carry the bike in Otis. I can take the front wheel off and then just put it back on when I get to the campsite. May try this on the next trip to RAINBOW Springs on the 7th of March.

So I just need to say I will never go to the Bike Route again for anything bike related. They are totally UNHELPFUL! I went to the Bike shop on the east trail, near Pet Supermarket that I drive by all the time and the guy in there gave me a great idea. Put a hitch on the back of Olivi@ and get one of those racks that fit into the receiver. Well, I called Gerzeny’s to find out if that can be done and they never called me back – too bad! Anyway, I found a little “receiver” adapter on Amazon and also found a bike rack that would fit into it. I’m hoping that it will fit on the area in front of the storage bin. I’ll keep you posted. I think it is going to work, we’ll see. Then I can take my bike to Rainbow Springs/Ross Prairie. Even though I doubt I’ll ride it!
