Olivi@ & Otis RV Life #34

I am still thinking about our great trip to Ross Prairie. I’m just “in love” with this camping thing. I could say I was obsessed by it, but that wouldn’t be healthy! But I am! In fact, I had scheduled a trip to Collier-Seminole State Park beginning March 19th, but I cancelled it. Which I may regret because I scheduled a trip for April 16th to 19th and it may be too hot then, but we’ll see. We were going to go to Lake Louise, but Bette & Suzan needed to cancel it so I schedule the C-S trip all by myself. Now that I have the tent room, I’m much happier – much more space. My first experience was great, although I found that I had not “tied” it down as well as I should have. One of the corners knocked over the coffee table and made a mess. I then tied the corner to the camper with bungee cords. I think that will work in the future. I also set it up over the curb of my site. If I was smarter, I would have moved the camper closer to the electric box and the tent would not have done that. Here is a picture of my set up:

Big Set Up Before the Wind Storm

So Suzan and I put up the big awning behind Olivi@! It came with two lame suction cups. One of them worked well and the other one didn’t work at all. It was really light weight which was nice, but come to find out that the wind picked it up while we were gone and the ranger, Shannon, had to go and rescue it and tie it down so it wouldn’t go flying all over the campground. So I was still in my PJ’s! Plus I did this for a fashion statement:

Cold Feet

I can’t wait for my “garden clogs”, that will take care of this issue in the future. I’ve also put my “Birkenstocks” in the camper, but the garden clogs should be better. They are “on the way” from CHINA!

I also just ordered 2 “Welcome Mats” for either side of the tent for people to leave their shoes outside so the inside of the tent stays cleaner.

So here is another picture from our trip:

Blue Gator

This was a picture of all of us at the Blue Gator. This was a fun place – weather was nice so we were outside on the porch. There were about 40 of us. I preferred “Swampy’s”. But our waitress was really good and handled the group really well. The bathroom was disgusting, however. But overall, the place was nice.

So we really got to the Prairie:

Ross Prairie

The really cool thing about Ross Prairie Campground is that it has horses camping too. Two horses stayed in the site next to us. Here they are on the trail we went on at Ross Prairie. This is a picture of Suzan taking a picture of the horses kissing:

Kissing Horses

I love this picture! So funny! I’m going to stop now, I need to get ready to go to Intergroup. I’ll finish this up when I go to work and then later I’m getting computer training at church for the new store. I’ve got some straw bags to give to them to sell from Nancy.

See you later!

So I’m beginning this again on Saturday. I never got a chance to work on it at Intergroup and then I went to FCC to work on inventory for TheCurrent.shop. We are taking a space next to The Current and will be opening a small resale shop. It is going to be “fun” I hope. I’m going to use this as an excuse to quit The Fresh Market. I can’t do Fresh Market any longer. It really doesn’t pay me enough to continue there. Although I really liked working for Casey, I’m not as loyal to Chris and the new manager John. So it is time for me to go. But not before I use my discount a little longer. I think it should be fun – although it is a bit of a hike to get there, but I do love my JEEP so it isn’t awful. Plus, I don’t mind driving pulling Olivi@ for 5 hours…………..

I bought another back awning. This time it is an “inflatable” one. I’m not sure whether it will work either, but I’m going to give it a shot. It will arrive next week and I’ll try it out in the side yard to see how it goes.

So back to Ross Prairie. I have a couple of more pictures I want to add:

Horse Neighbors

This is a picture of the women and their horses on the trail. They are good friends that bring their horses out to “get away” from their husbands and do a little camping and messing around. The one on the left (never learned their names) came over and was impressed with my tent room. She said she wants to get one to attach to her horse trailer. Seems like a great idea – I know I love it!

So I bought these:

Solar Lights

Susan Jordan had them at their campsite at Rainbow Springs. I hung them up with those funny kitty ties and on the wire guidelines that I bought. I’m not sure the orange wires are going to work at the campsite later, but we’ll see. It rained really hard last night when they were on and the top one was not on this morning, although the lower one was working. I hope the rain didn’t damage them. I hope there will be sun to recharge them today. We’ll see. Anyway I think I have a picture of them lit up:

Solar Lights On

They really give out some good light and will be a nice addition to the campsite. They are really need – they blow up like a beach ball. So they squish down for storing into a little box. They will fit under my bed in Olivi@ for storage!

Just read a review of the inflatable awning I wanted. It wasn’t good, so I’ve decided to cancel the order. I may just need to return it to the vendor when it gets here. Hopefully I cancelled it before it was sent out. It was from a vendor, not Amazon. We’ll see how that goes. Will keep you posted. I still want to get something for over the kitchen, but I haven’t found what I’m looking for yet. Time will tell.

I guess that is about all for now. I think I’ll use my SitNCycle this morning. I think it might be too rainy today for riding my bike – although I want to ride it to Publix now that I have a basket and a new seat. I hope it is more comfortable to ride – at least that is the hope.

Thanks for visiting. Come back again!
