Good morning!
Be Calm, Be True, Be Quiet! My new mantra! We are at Myakka River State Park near Sarasota. It is a beautiful place. I set up my camp which is going to be “as is” I believe each time we go. I love my new “shade tent”! I need to see if I can get it closer to the side – perhaps lift it to the side of the camper. It didn’t quite keep the sun off of the side of the camper this Tim. I think the straps can com off & I can lift it up & tie it to the roof rack. Next time.

So happy with all of my toys! I think I’m done for now! Maybe!!! I think it looks amazing! Just bought another flamingo light that looks like a plastic one during the day, but is solar & lights up at night!
Here is Suzan & Bette:

They brought Sadie & Zia. They were so good last night when we went on a ride around the park in the dark! But look what we saw:

We’ve heard owls every time we’ve gone camping but never saw one. We drove up on this one & it sat forever (at least 10 minutes) without flying away! It was amazing! Suzan took this awesome picture with her phone! Amazing!
Coffee is on:

Love my life! Miss my girls though!

It’s going to be hard when we go to New Mexico. Suzan & I will fly out on Tuesday, the 9th, rent a truck, drive to her cabin & then drive all her stuff back to Florida! At least I’ll get a taste of what it’s like to drive “cross country”. We’re both closer to 70 than we like to 🤔!
I’ll continue this later. Time to stretch & walk around with coffee! I’ll be back!
Back at this today. More pictures to come from our adventures. Got to go out to make coffee though. I think I heard a little critter under the camper walking on the edge of the tent. I’ll go out to see if there was any way they got in the tent. Wish me luck!
No issues in the tent, although the zippers were open a little at the back of the tent. So here are a couple of pictures from yesterday. We walked 2 miles with Suzan’s college friends, Brian & Pat.

There were lots of alligators out. Our walk took us on the same path that our tram ride went on. It was really nice. I think next time I’d like to do the electric boat. Next time we want sites 71 & 72. Here is a look at one of them. Very shady:

And this one too…..

These will be hard to get. Yesterday we learned that the river floods every summer so the campground isn’t available. We were staying in Palmetto Dunes & it was the newest campground. There are 36,000 acres here! So I don’t know when we can come back. I guess November or so. We’re going to Kissimmee Prairie for the new moon in October. Suzan & Bette & the girls are going to New England in June for about 3 weeks. I may venture down to the Keys without them, but will pick some time to go to Collier-Seminole State Park, although there isn’t much happening out there. I think I’ll explore the Keys. Or maybe Disney World. Ft. Wilderness? I’ll ask Lynn & Jamie. Now that I’m able to set up the whole place on my own, I feel lots more eager to do it by myself.
Ok, more pictures from yesterday:

And my favorite experience from yesterday:

Such pretty birds! And look at the alligator on the bank of the river! There were many of them over there!
Next, a great white & blue Herons:

It was a beautiful day yesterday!
I think I hear Suzan…I’all be back.
