Olivi@ & Otis RV Life #4

Good Morning Family,

So, TODAY IS THE DAY!  I finally remembered to put matches in Olivi@ although I have a hand held one, if it runs out of gas, I have a back up.  But then again, I don’t plan to cook this time.  Suzan is bringing a “quick start” fire so we might have a bonfire a couple of nights.  I sure hope the weather gets a little cooler up there.  We are going to Highlands Hammock State Park.  Here is a picture of the layout of the camp ground.

So now I know how I can make a link active.  The next step is to change all that huge link into just “HERE”.  I can do it on the calendar from Google because I do it for our Intergroup Website all of the time.  I’ll figure it out one day, but not today.

My obsession this morning is trying to find my “Passport” paperwork.  I put it in a little cloth bag that matches my sheets in Olivi@, but I don’t know where I “stashed” it in the camper.  I hope I don’t have to empty the whole thing before we leave today, but then again, it will give me something to do and I should start now while it is still cool in there.

FOUND IT!  It was in the headboard but I checked there 16 times I’m sure.  Anyway it is now in the glove compartment of the JEEP!

OK now a couple of things I’ve been working on.  I uploaded the video of Wylie climbing into Olivi@ but can’t recall how to upload it.  I think I may need to go to edit this post from my iPad because it is on there.  But I’m going to try to find it here on my computer because I just saw it.  Anyway, here is evidence that she really climbed in:

Now on to the video:  OK.  Now I found the video but it is 75 mb but I can only upload 65 mb so I’m going to try to shorten the video again.  I was having trouble doing that on my phone, but I’ll try from the iPad.

OK I finally did this.  This is how I needed to do it.  I put it on FB and then I saved it in my “saved” videos on FB and copied the link.  Then I was able to “activate” the link while editing this post.

So the plan now is to see if it works.  I’ll go try it from my iPad.  Whew!  Now I’m going to check it and I’ll be back!

It is only 10AM and I’m almost finished with being “ready”.  I need to get gas in the car – top it off – and want to pick up the back up fuses.  I’m going out shortly.  Still want to check if my videos worked.  I’m going to do that now and then I’ll really be back……or not!

UPDATE:  We left today around 2PM which was about 2 hours late.  Bette & Suzan had a nail in their tire and it needed to be fixed before we could leave.  So I drove over to their house and we left from there.  We took 75 to the first exit past the toll gate toward Miami.  Then we took that road through Immokalee to 29 (?) and took that one to Sebring.  We got to the camp ground about 5:45 and it was dark.  I had to back into the campsite in the dark, navigating around campfires and trees.  There was a nice guy named Steve who came out and held the flashlight for us and helped me get into the space.  I’m still hitched up.  I’ll unhitch tomorrow in the daylight.  Right now I have the stabilizers down and it seems fine.  I turned on the AC to cool off the place and to cool me.  But it is now 10 PM and I’ve turned off the AC and opened the side windows with partial screen showing.  It is 74 degrees now and I’m going to try to sleep without the AC.  The AC cools great, but there is a fan that has to run and the AC itself is really noisy – it will make it hard to sleep.  I think I’ll be fine this way.  Guess I’ll find out.  First thing we discovered was an Armadillo.  I got a video of it, but it’s too late to figure out how to put it in this post, so I’ll try tomorrow with tomorrow’s post.  If you follow me on FB, you probably already saw it!

Think I’ll see what it is like to sleep in Olivi@.  It’s getting late now:  10:15 PM.  Campground is silent.  That is nice!
