Olivi@ & Otis RV Life #41

So I am starting this one over because I forgot to publish it! Last night we stopped over at Fort Stockton, TX. We’re at the La Quinta just off of I10. A huge storm blew through & boy was I glad that happened last night when we were safely in bed! But Suzan woke up & couldn’t sleep so I’m sitting in the bathroom area starting this so she can sleep little longer. It looks like we’re going to run into some rain today. We’ll see. The most of it has passed through & it should be good when we take off this morning.

So here are a couple of more pictures from Datil:

Tracker – Yellow Car

I forget the name of this beauty, but Bonnie & Sally loaned it to us so we could get around. Driving the truck around would not have happened! So they gave us this car. It was a standard drive & started with a screw driver! It was so cool. On Thursday, Bonnie took us for a ride around in it & it stopped running! Thank God she was driving! Anyway, it started again but the transmission seemed to have stalled out! What a pain for them! You have no idea!

Next we toured their Gypsy wagon:

Gypsy Wagon
Cool Door
Room for one

Bonnie built this herself. That is what she did for a living – carpentry! Her workshop is amazing! More on that later. Time to get Suzan up! Will be back!

So this is Bonnie on the last day we were in Datil. Sally made this delicious lasagna! It was totally vegetarian! Broccoli, mushrooms, cottage cheese, etc!

Last Supper in Datil, NM

We left for Socorro which was 90 miles from Datil, so we got a head start.

So we drove to Flatonia, TX today! We tried to get to Houston today, but the wind was brutal & we drove slowly so we’re about 100 from there. We’re looking to go to Gulfport, MS. 7 hours – 500 miles. Wish us luck!

Here are a couple of pictures from our adventures!

Stone sculpture
Graffiti

This place was a stop to change drivers do a little stretching. We are good about taking breaks!

So we’ve been eating breakfast for free every day since hitting the road! This is what we’re having:

Texas Waffles

This is all for today. Tomorrow is another day. I’ll be back! Thanks for visiting.
