Olivi@ & Otis RV Life #43

Good Morning everyone,

So I’ve been home from our “GREAT” Adventure for a week now and I’m still amazed by how much fun we had and what a wonderful experience it was. Suzan and I had a fantastic time. I’m even wishing it was colder here in Florida! But really our weather has been amazing since I’ve been back. The mornings are in the 60’s so I have nothing to complain about!

I’m leaving tomorrow for Boston. Janet’s husband Rick died and Beaches are getting together for some support. He suffered for so long, it was truly a blessing although I’ll find out how Janet feels about that this weekend. Let me see if I can find a picture of all of us:

Texas

Jenn Bates

So these pictures include the 4 of us who traveled together most of the time and then there is Jenn. Half the time she didn’t go with us. But since she is living so close, she’ll be there this time and is even hosting a brunch for us. Also there will be a few others from DHS. It’s our 50th Reunion this year and I’m not planning to attend at this point so that will be interesting. She is so creative that way. Always does such nice things like that. I’m trying to figure out what I’m going to pack. It is supposed to be just in the 60’s during the day and I’m not sure I know what I have that I can wear. Mostly I’ll bring my jeans. I just don’t have cold weather clothes. Oh well, it will be what it is!

I tried to get a switch installed in Olivi@ to get the fan to be quieter and run slower. John Butler came over and tried for a LONG TIME – a couple of hours – to get it to work. He got it working once, so I think it will work. It just didn’t come with any instructions. I think I’ll continue to look for a video on it before I give it up. But also, it didn’t seem to be able to tuck the circuit board in the housing away from the elements.

I seem to be spending a lot of time obsessing about going on trips with Olivi@ and Otis. I am planning a 3 day trip to Collier-Seminole State Park in the middle of May. I’m already worried about how “hot” it will be. But I think I’ll still do it and set up the side tent so I have more space. I’m even thinking about taking one of the cats. Not really ready to do that yet. I haven’t trained them on the leash yet and I really want them on a leash. Love these guys!

Cats in my lap!

This doesn’t happen very often. Usually Wylie doesn’t want anything to do with Metaxa. But they both wanted to be in my lap and it was so sweet! Metaxa is always sleeping with me now and Wylie sleeps in the guest room. Once in a while she’ll sleep with us, but will sleep above my head, as far away from Metaxa as she can. It’s so funny!

I found a new website: www.rvtripwizard.com

I’ve found some campgrounds that I didn’t know about. I even found one in Goodland. I might try that one soon. Also I’ve been seeing one on the way to St. Pete, but I’m thinking I need to drive up the Sunshine Skyway bridge and I’m not so sure about that. It might be before the bridge which would be nice and it’s right on the water. Then again there are a bunch in the keys which would be nice too.

When we were travelling back from New Mexico, we spent the nights in hotels and the cheapest night was $70. The rest averaged $90. It was split between the two of us so that was good, but camping is so much cheaper and I’m bringing my own bed with me.

I just thought about something. I have a bunch of financial things that I need to shred, but I think I’ll bring them camping with me next month and use the fire ring and just burn them! If there is a “no fire” thing going on, I’ll just wait until the next time.

I’ve been trying to “clean out”. I gave away 40 things for lent this year and gave them to Artsy Thrift. It wasn’t easy. I’m not sure I had 40 things in the bags, but it was close. If I want to “go on the road” one day and rent the house out, I’ll need to clean out a bunch of stuff.

When we were driving back from New Mexico, Suzan and I thought that we should get a Class C Motor Home and travel around. Like Carolyn. She posted a video about that. Let me see if I can get that one posted here. It’s not all that glamorous, but interesting:

A Day In the Life………

The most interesting thing, was how difficult it is to edit videos. It is very time consuming! And Mandy Lea said that at times she spends 2 hours on just 10 seconds of a video. I think my perfectionism would make for a very difficult life of making YouTube Videos and SO MANY people are making a living that way. I bet the Russo’s spend that kind of time editing also. It really gives me a better appreciation for the work they do.

I better get going. I may come back and continue this later, don’t know. But I need to get some laundry done so I have everything I need for my trip to Boston. At least my flight isn’t until 11 so I don’t need to leave until 8. I won’t make the same mistake we made last time – I don’t want to miss my flight.

Thanks for visiting! See you next time!
