Good Morning! It is now June 19, 2019. Sisters by the Sea 2019 is “in the can”! It was amazing! I renewed my enthusiasm and will be on the committee again next year. I don’t “NOT” want to be involved. I’m just letting go of the negativity that I take personally. That is part of the program, so I’m “working” it!
Here is the line up from this year:

This morning Peggy sent a recording of a young person “Katie H” from California. I’m going to try to get the recording imbedded here. I’ll be right back:
Yay! Got it done! This is about a YPAA (Young Person in AA). Lucky her! Got into the program long before she created a long life of drinking and using (like me with 40 years)! I want to try to get a recording of Katie P from 5 years ago. Someone suggested I listen to her recording and listen for her “toughness” and how she has mellowed over the last 5 years. I was offended a bit when Trish mentioned that a “newbie” thought I was a bit of a bitch over the weekend. And I can guess that it was probably true – after I got over the fact that I was offended! Another way to prove I’m using the program! The speakers this year were amazing. I really liked all of them.
So I’m looking forward to camping at Ft. De Soto Park in St. Pete. I have a reservation in August. I know it will be HOT, but I thought I would give it a shot and do this all on my own.

I’m excited about getting here. I have Site 40 which is “on the water”. All of the camp sites look like they are really well shaded. So I think it will be fun and there is a LOT to do. I’m thinking about taking my bike, but will probably rent a bike and a kayak. Depends on the weather and how HOT it is. So now that I know that all of the sites have electric, I can stop obsessing about it and just travel to the camp ground and I think it may be my new “best friend” camping place. It is only 2 hours away so it it pretty close and has more to offer than Collier-Seminole State Park. I need to put my beach chair in the car RIGHT NOW. Be right back! I need to remember to put my beach umbrella in the car for that trip too.
We have the Intergroup Picnic on Sunday at Vineyards Park. I’ll be getting there on Sunday between 9:30 and 10AM. The Grapevine will be there too, so we’ll have a tent to sit under. The “Comes of Age” group will be hosting the picnic this year, so I’m hoping it will go well. I do know that Ken and Annie will be there – Ken is the speaker.
Once that is over, the next event will be the Delegate Report at our District Meeting on the 27th. After that, on the next weekend, I’ll be going to Tampa for the quarterly. So I’ll be near Ft. De Soto so on Sunday, or going up Friday, I may stop by the park and check it out. It will probably be on Sunday, because Friday I’ll be working at Intergroup until 12:30 and then I’ll drive up on Friday and since it is a “holiday” weekend, I can’t be sure about the traffic and don’t want to get crazy trying to get there with a detour. On Sunday, I can detour.
