Today is Thursday August 1, 2019. I am at the 63rd Annual Florida State Convention, waiting for the 10 AM Speaker Meeting to begin. Kathy & I volunteered at reception from 7 to 9. We found out we really don’t need to be there until 8 AM so guess what? I will go to Meditation at 7 AM and then go over to reception tomorrow & Saturday. So here is the DJT Ballroom at Trump National.
So here is my beautiful room. I’m sorry I am putting money in DJT’s pocket but I must say, this resort is beautiful & so far superior to the place we were in Lauderdale last year! The rain is slowing things a little, but each room has 2 umbrellas in the closet. That is pretty cool:
So this is in the lobby of my building. We are in the Bobby Jones Villa. It’s great to be in this one because it has the Marathon Meetings, Meditation, Crafts, Movie Room, & Yoga. If it rains a bunch & we don’t want to walk around in it, we can just stay here & there is lots to do. A.A. everywhere!

So today I’ve made it to 2 speakers & Meditation. I love just having the flexibility to do whatever I want. Now I’m back at my room & will probably take a nap. It is hard to tell how big this event is. None of the speakers have had huge audiences. Really a ton of empty chairs. I’ll be interested in knowing the numbers. I’ll probably count some of the envelopes tomorrow morning at registration. That may give us some sort of idea. I suppose I could ask Robin. They said they were looking for 1000 walk-ins. The hotel was booked and there is an overflow hotel. Next year it’s in Jacksonville. I don’t want to go there so I’ll be skipping it. This year we signed up for the banquets which we did not do last year. Maybe that will be good. We’ll see. Friday night banquet is sold out whatever that means. It’s interesting to watch how this comes together. There is a very young girl who is the treasurer.
