Today is Saturday, August 17, 2019. I have found the RV I want. It is a Born Free, 2005 24 foot rear bath. It is AMAZING. It will cost $28K. Bill Strenkert and I went to see it yesterday with the owner Ken Hill. He is a Harley guy! Anyway, the MH is so great! Everything works – as much as I can tell from our short visit yesterday. Ken just got home from an 11K trip around the west and he had no issues! He has owned it for a year and a half. There were two other owners. They kept it amazing and they gave it up because they just got too old to travel any longer. I know the AC blows cold with the generator on because that was the first thing Ken turned on when we stepped into the coach. Plus the cab AC is enough to keep it cool on the road. I think the AC in the house needs to have the generator on to run. The refrigerator is propane and 110. Ken built wooden boxes to fit into the storage areas above the chairs and the jack knife couch. It makes things much more organized and neat. There is a TON of storage! When I sit in the seats, they are SO comfortable. I have no idea what they are made of, but the leather is SO SOFT! I feel good in the drivers seat. I don’t feel that it is so HUGE! Let me see if the picture has arrived in my email. No not yet. I think I’ll send it again.
I climbed up the ladder in the back to check out the roof. It looks amazing. The MH is all fiberglass – one piece so there are no places that can leak like seams or caulking as in other motorhomes. This brand went out of business in 2017. At the time, they were selling for $165,000! The workmanship is really amazing. All of the cabinets are WOOD – not particle board. The bathroom is in the back and is a WALK IN! It has a porcelain toilet! It was switched out by the previous owner and was a $700 upgrade. Ken has all of the records and a book of “stuff” for the coach. Something isn’t right about my phone. I can’t seem to get the pictures sent to email. I may need to take it in to Verizon, but that’s for another day. In the meantime, let me see if I can get a picture of it from RV Trader: That didn’t work. I guess the picture is lost in the black hole of the internet! Ugh! Now I’m going to go to my iPad to work on this because I have the pictures there and I can upload them without having to send them to my email. Be right back:

I have two pictures of the inside from RV Trader:

I’ll take a bunch of pictures today with my iPad so I can add them in here. So I am sitting at my desk eating a Jimmy Dean sausage and egg scrambler for breakfast. I’ll need my energy today while checking out the rig. I’m bringing my MiFi and my flashlight. I’m planning to crawl under the carriage to check out that bottom that Ken said is rustless because it was bought in Arizona. I am going to “shake it down” and drive to Arizona after the Gratitude dinner. I’ll try to convince Bill to fly out here and drive back with me. Gonna try to convince him to do that on my dime! OK I just emailed him. Fingers crossed!
So I shook hands on a deal with Ken Hill and my new Born Free Motor Home. I am so excited about it. I drove it and was pleasantly surprised about how well it handled. I even did a couple of Uy’s to get back to the storage area. Ken showed me how to dump the tanks although we did not go through the whole process because he couldn’t find a dump station nearby. He just returned from a 2 month 11,000 mile trip out west and dumped it before he stored it. The place is immaculate. The storage is amazing and he is going to give me a little outside gas grill, chairs, step, and a few other things. He is going to change the oil before he hands it over which is going to be on August 31st. Bill and I will drive up there again to pick it up and bring it home. I’ve got a lot to do before then. Plus I’m going camping in Olivia next week! I have to remember to get a FOR SALE SIGN for her for that trip. So this is what she looks like on the inside: I’m in the driver’s seat and Ken is directing me:

OK, so I’ve just decided to sell my guest room furniture. I got it when I moved here so I don’t mind getting rid of that now. This will be one way to “minimize”. I’ll put it up on FB Marketplace and see how it goes. I got rid of my fold out couch that way. Let me go do that now!
I guess that is it for today. It’s been so exciting and I am in heaven!
