Olivi@ & Otis RV Life #75

It is Friday, August 23, 2019. I am at Sanlan RV Resort and Golf Club in Lakeland, FL with RVing Women. I have had a great time so far. I’m in Olivi@ right now about 2:15 because it poured a little while ago. I saw it coming in and decided to take the awning down, but it isn’t as easy as you would think. Of course, I had to remove the light strip first. Then take down the flags. Then I had to unbungee the side poles which isn’t easy and once that was done I needed to roll it up. So I’m finally rolling it up and it starts to rain. I get it up to the camper to strap it in and it’s pouring! I finally got the cover on it, but not before the rain poured down and soaked me and the picnic table and the CLAM and everything else. I walked around to the other side of the camper and I could stay dry in the shade tent and watch to be sure the CLAM didn’t blow away. After the rain stopped, I tied it down so I think it will be OK now.

I got a chance this morning to go for a tour of the place in a GAS golf cart. I’ve never been in a gas one before. It’s interesting. They said there is no way to run out of gas, so we’ll see. Anyway, I’m going to go out now and see if it seems I can drive around again. But first, I’m going to upload the video from this morning.

I have found that when I take a video with my phone, even though it is pretty clear, it is small on other venues. It fills a phone screen, but makes it skinny here. But you get the point. Anyway, it is beautiful.

So this just moved in by me:

Tiffin Next Door

Of course it is a woman driver. I’m seeing so many of the SOLO women doing this. I’m going to have so much fun in Daisy!

So I took the golf cart for another ride today. Went all over the place and kinda got lost, but they told me that I couldn’t get lost so I believed them and finally got back, but not until I realized that my phone was missing! It had bounced out of the cart, lesson learned, PUT IT IN A POCKET. Anyway, the program told me not to panic, which was what I did the last time I lost my phone last week when I left it in Daisy! Anyway, I better get on the road sooner rather than later because, these little incidents could get worse & worse. Now I see how denial works with dementia – I certainly don’t want people to know how stupid I was to just lay the phone on the seat beside me! So God is good. Someone found it on the trail. What are the chances of that? And that they were honest enough to turn it in! And it was found just as I was looking for it with the nicest guy named Jamie. Jamie is a “techie” guy for this place. He just happened to be in the office when I came in to report that I lost my phone! Another God Shot!

Sanlan has a butterfly garden that is awesome! Here are a couple of pictures of it.

Beautiful flower reminds me of the type that Suzan shoots.

And these flowers were the best!

I got to go to Happy Hour with the girls! I’ll be back!

So Happy Hour was much better tonight! There was a lot of stuff. Can’t wait for Pot Luck tomorrow. I am not taking anything to Pot Luck. I’m going to see if I can grill the salmon tomorrow. We’ll see. Today got away from me pretty well. The rain came and I had to take the awning down so it wouldn’t blow down. I had not secured the CLAM and I watched it roll over. I have subsequently secured it better. I need to learn knots. Bette showed me once but I didn’t get it. I guess I should say I didn’t pay attention which is more like it. I would guess it’s on YouTube. Then I lost my phone and I found my phone – or let’s say my phone found me. Then there was Happy Hour and so I went to brush my teeth after that and now I’m in Olivi@ waiting for the sun to go down and the mosquitoes to come and go. I might step out at 9 or so to see if I can make it to the bathroom again before I settle in. I was going to try to connect my TV to the Cable. I may try that tomorrow. I have a cable. I just don’t know if it is correct or not. But this would be a good place to try it. Plus I want to see if it works so I can say it does when I sell Olivi@.

So I uploaded a bad video to YouTube from my iPad. Let’s go see what happened with that. It turned out skinny like the iPhone. And it really looks bad (let’s say I really look bad) so I’m not uploading it here. It was just a test anyway.

I have lots of pictures! I took another video today. I’m trying to get used to making videos. I was holding the phone wrong. Now I have a video that shows a larger picture. I’m going to start a blog tonight and add the new video to it. I’m in for the night with the AC on. It’s really still too hot here in Florida, but I have had fun especially because of the golf cart. See you soon. I’m on call this weekend and next weekend! Hope I don’t get a call up here. But we’ll see.
Thanks for commenting. Oh and by the way, one day I may have one of those big ass Class A’s. Women can drive them and do it all. I’ve seen it all weekend. It is very inspiring!
      See you Tuesday!
