Good Morning Road Warriors!

I’m on the Road again today to go to Patagonia State Park with RVW. I’m looking forward to it and I’m taking Metaxa (she’s not so sure) and my kayak. I’m going to store my kayak in the overhead area in DAISEE. It takes up a lot of space, but I think if I move it all the way forward, I can still sleep up there when Jack comes on a trip.

DAISEE2 waiting to take off.

I made it to Patagonia. Site 86

I have a better picture of the sign I’m trying to get uploaded.

Here is a better picture of the sign:

I took this while I was riding around on my bike. The weather was perfect for this weekend!

I was shaded by the beautiful tree next to the rig.

It was a wonderful ride. I videoed it all the way from Tucson. Jack used to ride those roads a lot on his motorcycle. I can see why, it has lots of curves and a wonderful view of the area. Not much out here. Patagonia is a sweet little town that is just before the State Park. There is a BIG LAKE here.

Lot’s of watersports. I think when I was here the last time, I was in the other loop. I’m going to take my bike down today and then take a tour of it. I can’t upload pictures, so I’ll need to do that after I get home and have better internet. I just noticed I have a view of the lake from my kitchen window! I put the windshield cover on so I don’t have a view from there, but it will give me more privacy and keep the HEAT out. Although it is 54 degrees outside this morning. When I got up (5:45 – missed the meeting) it was 55 inside DAISEE2. I turned on the furnace and it really worked well although it is very loud. I left it on for about 15 minutes and it is 59 in here now. I turned the furnace on each morning for a short time to “get the chill out” and then left on my little Buddy Heater. It gets the rig toasty really quickly.

Waiting for Alice to pick me up from Kayaking.

I love these little get-aways. It’s usually just me and Metaxa. Gives me an appreciation of how great my life is. I get to have wonderful companionship with Jack and the two new babies and then I get just to be with Metaxa in the rig. It’s glorious.

It is now Sunday, October 29, 2023. I’m leaving today around noon. The internet is cooperating right now so I’m going to blog for a while. I think that may mean that my music will work too. Let’s see. YES!

It’s been a great weekend. It was “Halloween” weekend and we’ve decided it isn’t the time for us to come as a group to Patagonia. They have a “wonderful” Halloween celebration here and we’re taking up spaces that could be used for families. There were many families here and I think it was pretty successful. The sites were all decorated and I think they should be happy with the way things worked out. Our soup dinner was a smash. I have a container of soup to take home. It is Tortilla Soup with chicken that I bought at Fry’s and it is delicious. Jack will be happy about that.

I went Kayaking with the ladies. It was really good. The kayak feels different from a hard sided one. It wobbles more. It’s just a matter of getting used to it. It was easy to blow up. The little Jackery can’t do it so next time, I’ll use the truck cigarette lighter for it. I think it will reach to that. But the foot pump is good too. I took everything out of the bag and put it in my storage area so now only the kayak and the paddle are in the bag which makes it much easier to lift up into the storage area. I took a selfie of me and Sandy. Plus a little video I’ll upload when I get home.

Here is my kayak all pumped up on the picnic table. It was much easier to do than I thought it would be. Having the picnic table helped. The Jackery blew out the electric pump so next time I’ll use the electric pump out of the dash of the truck:

Kayaking for the first time in my inflatible!

Oh yea, I was riding around the campground yesterday and a woman stopped me to ask about my bike. She and her husband are looking to buy some. I told them about the ones that Bill and Cathy are selling. They are going to Benson today to check them out. Plus B & C are selling their bike rack so they can have the whole package all at once. I hope it works out for them all! Turns out they wanted newer bikes. Too bad, they would have gotten a “smokin'” deal!

We did a few activities this weekend. The first one was to draw on gourds:

This was a beautiful example. I tried to do it but failed so I ended up tossing my gourd. It would have just taken up space and been in the way. My friend Anne did a beautiful one – she has a LOT of talent!

On Saturday night we had “SOUP”:

Plenty to eat. They had little “tasting” cups so we could sample the soups. There was chili too!

I took a picture of all of my “TOYS” which includes the RV:

They also carved pumpkins. I did not participate in that. Many women did a great job with that.

This was my temperature on the last day:

It was a full moon weekend. The moon was amazing:

Here it is coming up over the mountain:

Here it is later:

Perfect weather and time to celebrate Halloween!

On our bike ride we ran across this:

Cows on the open range by Patagonia!

I also so a deer at one point while driving back from SOUP with Sue.

Look what we have on Mt. Lemmon this time of year – no reason to go to the east coast I suppose:

This is the beach at Patagonia Lake State Park.

Look at these two cuties:
