RV Life with DAISEE2 #113 Saturday, November 9, 2024

Hello Everyone,

This weekend was the DVRC Community Garage Sale. Friday and Saturday. We were looking for a bench. Guess what! We found it!

It needs to be sanded and stained, but LOOK AT THAT PRICE! ZOOM IN! $10.00! Our neighbor Keith had stuff to sell for 3 days. We bought a couple of things from him and he gave Jack a sander. So now HE can work on sanding this bench while I go camping. It’s a beautiful thing.

I’m going to Amado on Wednesday for the Annual RVW Meeting for our chapter. It’s a month early. I’m going to have to give a Treasurer Report. I think I’m ready. Anyway, we’ll see how it goes!

Here is the picture that Maddie took of us in the wash while Jeeping from Catalina! It was so much fun. So glad I got a chance to do it. I’m putting a video in again of the drive:

See how close it is to Tucson – only an hour away!

We went to OSG on Sunday for their Breakfast Buffet. It was delicious:

Today is Veteran’s Day. We have our flag!

We had a wonderful Sunrise this morning:

I’ll be getting ready to leave tomorrow! I’ll turn on the fridge today with the propane. I tried something this morning – I have an old iPhone and it still takes pictures. I took this one today:

I’m surprised that it still works like that. It also has some books and other apps that work. So I’ll keep it for a back up in case something happens to my current phone.

Looking for the sun this morning!

I’m starting this again on Wednesday, November 13th and I’m going to De Anza today to meet up with the ladies. I filled up DAISEE2 at a LOVES off of I10. $2.75 a gallon – a little farther down it was $2.64.

Much better than in MESA. Glad I passed by all the stations in MESA on my way out. I am settled and I have FULL HOOK UPS and I even connected my sewer! THAT is a FIRST! Here are a few pictures of my site with my STARLINK set up!

Madeline is beside me to the left. The ones to my right are full time. They have a yappy dog and a porch set up.

Look how BLUE that sky is. It is 75 degrees outside and 80 inside. I have fans running and it’s quite nice in here. A couple of more pictures:

I put the STARLINK MINI on my slab where the picnic table should be. I don’t need a picnic table. I just hope no one steps on my STARLINK. I hope it’s clear enough. I put a light by it so it will go on at night if someone comes close.

I have a tiny view of the beautiful mountains from my back window. They are really pretty. I have a few pictures of them from other years here.

This is the entrance to De Anza:

Beginning this again at 7AM on Thursday, November 14th. It got COLD last night. 40 degrees inside and out. I got up (although the thermostat is right by the bed) at about 4AM and turned on the furnace. It cranked right up. It took the “chill” out and then I got out the radiator and it is on now. So it’s 60 degrees in the rig now. With the blanket and a cat on my lap, I’m very comfortable. Metaxa was good last night. She slept with me and purrred most of the night. She got me up a couple of times. The sun is just coming up over the mountains. People are out walking their dogs. So glad I don’t have a dog that I need to do that with in 40 degree weather! I’ll take a cat ANYTIME!

I completely spaced out my meeting today. Didn’t think about it until I got 2 contributions from Matt and Margaret. Boy, that is interesting. I hope I remember to go on Sunday!! It’s our business meeting! Oh boy, just took my first sip of coffee! SO GOOD!

Thunder Mountain Mobile RV Wash is here washing the rig. Same price as last year! $175.00. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!

Looks BRAND NEW AGAIN! Especially the over cab spot!

I learned about Geo Caching today. It was a blast! We found 7 of them around here. I’m looking forward to learning about some in my area in MESA.

This was our first one. Rose needed a long magnet to get it. SO now I need to buy TOOLS for this hobby. I am a Premium Person with this. $40 a year. More Pictures:

This metal piece was covering the cache on this telephone pole.

This was the type of cache where the signing sheet is held.

This was tucked away in a bullet in this post.

This was another type of holder.

My passenger tire is flat – I needed to put about 50 lbs into it. We’ve got it going now and will check it tomorrow to see if it is holding. I needed this (should get one) from Robbin:

It needed about 50 lbs. Madeline tightened the extender a lot so that could have been the problem. She said there is room for a lock nut. I’ll leave that to Jack to figure out. In the meantime, we need to get one of these. I’ll first check with him to see if he has one.

We went out to dinner tonight to a little Mexican Restaurant in Tubac. It was good. Better than my Amy Bowl and the chicken they were serving.

Look at the size of those drinks! Marge and Alice. Sue, Elna and I were on the other side of the table. Not many customers, but it was early. 5:30. Here is another picture of this cute little restaurant:

Woke up to these temperatures today. I slept in until 7AM – that was cool!

Look at my fridge temps!

We played Left, Right & Center Dice game! It was great. I ordered 2 sets on Amazon. Here is us having fun!

Cindy won the first pot! It was about $10.

Here is another picture of me finding a GeoCache:

Beginning this again on Saturday, November 16th and it was COLD this morning. Here are the temps:

We had our annual meeting this morning. It was FINE. My budget (Madeline’s) was accepted unanimously.

We played card bingo this afternoon and then after that it was Left, Right, Center. Great games! Then I went back to the rig for a “rest of my eyes”. Dinner tonight was hamburgers. Here is a view of the mountains at dinner time:

I remembered this afternoon that I never got a chance to walk around the park. I intended to do it, but didn’t ever take the time. We were busy this weekend! So tonight we had the gift exchange. It was fun and I got this:

It is a big cheese board in the shape of the State of Arizona. It’s too big for the rig, but we can use it at home. We may just hang it on the wall someplace or I was thinking about putting it on the porch table in the back porch. It’s pretty cool really.

I put away my hoses so I’m not on city water any longer and I dumped the black tank so it is empty now. My tire is holding air, so I think Madeline fixed it for me. I only need to take the levelers off and pack up the Starlink and I should be good to go. I’m thinking about turning off the gas to the fridge but it’s 3 hours home. Everything should be still frozen. But the roads I’m on won’t be rough so I could travel with the propane on. Still debating in my head about that. Not sure weather I’ll go back on I 10 like I came in this time, or go back another way. I think I’ll get my GPS and see what routes it suggests.
