RV Life with DAISEE2 #119 Wednesday, January 1, 2025

Welcome to 2025! It’s a little chilly here in Mesa, but it is supposed to be that way this time of year. I really like it colder rather than TOO HOT!

Last night for NYE, we went to Black Angus for dinner. It was great. We had a 6:15 reservation and were seated by 6:30 which was pretty good considering all of the people waiting there. IT WAS PACKED. Tonight we’re going to have Hoppin’ John with Cornbread. We started that “tradition” 2 years ago, but skipped it last year due to the move here. I looked back to see if we went to Bill and Cathy’s for Christmas dinner, but my blog did not mention that so I didn’t think we did, but the picture on the fridge tells a different story. I guess we did go there. Anyway, I’m glad the holidays are over. I enjoy them more now that I have someone to share them with, but still not a fan.

Next RV trip is to Patagonia Lake with Sue and Elna and Alice. It will be cold so not sure how much kayaking we’ll do.

I’ve been there a number of times. It’s the park where we had a Halloween Rally a couple of years ago. The town of Patagonia is very quaint. I’m looking to trick my GPS to take me just to Patagonia and not the park as it is taking me around a way I don’t like. Anyway, here is my route:

Once I get to Patagonia, I’ll re-map and get directions to the park.

Beginning this again on January 2, 2025. We had the “GOOD LUCK” meal last night. It was REALLY GOOD!

This was how I did it.

This was Jack’s plate. See how different we are?

Bill and Cathy made a stew:

I made the best cornbread!

It is delicious!

Went for my 2 mile walk at Usery this morning. It was chilly!

Here is a picture of Jack cooking our sausage for the Hoppin John!

Sunrise on the 3rd or January 2025 from inside and outside:

If you look at the picture of sunrise from my room above you can see a big light in the backyard. Lloyd and Jack removed it yesterday!

It was actually powered by the switch by the outside door in the Arizona Room. I always thought it was a little strange.

There was a rally in Laughlin, NV (I should have gone so I could scratch off Nevada on my map) over the New Years Weekend. They went gambling:

Laurie Alexander, Alice & Elna and two others I don’t recognize.
