Good morning everyone! Starting a new blog today because it’s a new month and I’m sneaking in a trip tomorrow to Lake Pleasant Regional Park for 2 nights. I’m excited. I’m going to tow the JEEP because I think there is a lot of exploring to do up there. We’ll see. I asked Shannon to come too, but too late for her as she is still a working stiff!
This is my campsite at Lake Pleasant – it has a ramada! Pretty Cool! I’m looking forward to seeing what my view will be, but it seems to be pretty much away from the next guy!

Bill and Cathy stayed there on their way up to Yellowstone last week and when I researched the place there are wild donkeys there and I’m looking forward to driving around to explore in the JEEP!

If you copy the link above into your browser, it will show you the Chiricahua National Monument which is where we are going to go out of Willcox this month. It’s the first leg of our Rolling Rally. I’m just going to the first one and the last one at Silver City.
Beginning this again on Thursday, April 3, 2025. It’s CAMPING DAY! YAY!
Here are a couple of pictures of B&C&W arrival at YNP 2025:

Welcoming committee!
I left at 11:30 to get to Lake Pleasant. It was a bad drive because it was on all highways and they were busy. (Let’s not forget that I forgot my phone and had to go back for it so I was 1/2 hour later leaving, although that didn’t matter). It took me 1.5 hours to get here from Mesa. I am finally settled in my site #68 on the side of a hill that overlooks the HUGE Lake Pleasant! It is now 2:30. Took me an hour to set up my STARLINK and settle at my site with water and electric. This was MY welcoming committee: I came here expressly to see donkeys and my work is done! I LOVE THIS PARK. I WANT TO LIVE HERE!

Since I had never been here before, I didn’t know what to expect as far as sites were concerned. I had no idea what to expect. They have exceeded my expectations completely. It looks like they have redone the electric. It is BRAND NEW! Water too.

As the picture shows from 10 years ago – the cactus is the same:

This is DAISEE2 backed into that space:

The rock on the left is the same as above. DAISEE2 is hiding the Ramada, but it’s back there. This picture shows it – my view from the rear window:

I forgot my light too, but Jack reminded me to pick it up when I went back for my phone and iPAD. This is how level I am:

So when I got here today, I should have unhooked the JEEP before getting to my spot, but I pulled down the way and parked in front of the bathrooms. It was at a bit of an angle, so I had to hammer the pins out of the BlueOx. I used a hammer and a screwdriver to do it. Then the screwdriver got jammed. SO I was at a bit of an impass when VERN stopped by to help me. He told me to release the jeep and he could pull it out for me. HE WAS MY HERO. Come to find out they are my neighbors:

Looks like he does the grilling like Bill and Cathy do. His wife’s name is Cindy. They just got married and it is their first time camping in their rig! They are from Surprise, AZ.

This is RED at the bathroom waiting for me to pick her up again:

So this is how it looks from DAISEE2’s front seat:

I can’t get over how great this place is. I can’t wait to explore it tomorrow in RED. It’s windy up here on the hill and a little chilly. I’m looking forward to sunset. It will be out my driver side window and that means sunrise will be at my back window.
Went for a walk this afternoon. Had to close my ring! Anyway, I took another couple of pictures of how beautiful we look at our site:

On my walk today, I found a pull through for the next time. Let me check to see if there is electric & water. Yes it is: SITE 16 or 18 is also a pull through – same view!

I took a video of the playground near the Discovery Center. It’s only open Friday through Monday 10AM to 4PM.
Beginning this again on Friday, April 4. 2025. Woke up to these temps:

I put on the furnace and it is now 60 degrees. It cycled once. I’m going to test it to see if it cycles on again. It was so windy last night. So I got up a couple of times to get things from outside and put the STARLINK under the rig. Brought this inside and it stayed on all night – it was sorta cool!

Since we think our little JEEP is SO COOL, I’m afraid others will think it also so I put this on the wheel to keep it safe:

Furnace just cycled on again. Love the systems in DAISEE2! Jack just sent me this picture of DAISEE2 and RED waiting in front of the house in MESA.

So I watched the TV for the first time in the rig! Watched the “new” Law and Order and Special Victims Unit. The TV is awesome – although LARGE!

My Waggle camera is working:

Metaxa is on my lap! Love that cat even though she woke me up about 4 times last night!
I’m going exploring today in RED. This is my location in case I need to get back to my site:

I took a picture of DAISEE2 & RED waiting to take off also:

Just made my reservation for DEAD HORSE STATE PARK for next April. I’m going from WEDNESDAY to SUNDAY 4/8 to 4/12. I have the same site as last year #1:

There is a big tree on the driver’s side of the rig so it will be shaded during the day and is pretty private! I’m going to go on a short walk this morning. I’ll be back!
I went for a long ride today. Made it to Desert Tortoise Campground but could not drive through it because you needed a code at the gate. I guess that is how they save on volunteers. The Road Runner campground is wide open and I’ve noticed a lot of official sites with trucks to cruise around for safety I suppose. I’ve seen a lot of big rigs here at this campground and the sites really are not that big. I’m glad I have DAISEE2. She fits great and RED fits right in front of her with no problem. I saw a lot of burros today. I even got a little video of one eating his lunch!
I drove over to Scorpion Marina where there was a very nice restaurant. I had lunch there. There was the friendliest UPS driver who told me to take the JEEP on a back road (4 wheel drive) to see a lot of Burros and other wildlife. Not something I would do on my own, but if the group ever comes here, it might be fun to explore!

At the Marina, there was a little elevator that takes you down to the slips. I rode down with the UPS Man. I have a video of it:
My lunch was very good. It cost $25 but was worth it.

It was a great little restaurant right on the water. Reminded me of Naples a LOT!
This was my morning hike – almost made it 2 miles:

There was a very cool cactus near my site:

I guess I’ll close this out for tonight. It just started raining. Glad I don’t have to “walk a dog”! I’m going to watch a little TV and then go to bed. See you in the morning!
Good morning, Saturday, April 5, 2025. It is BEAUTIFUL this morning. NO WIND! In fact, so still that there was a HOT AIR Balloon was flying this morning at 6:30AM:

These were my temperatures for this morning. I guess I’m more used to them b/c they didn’t feel bad this morning.

I’m going to go for a walk this morning to check out my “staging” area and also close my ring. I think I’ll leave around 11 or so. We’ll see. I’m getting ready to leave now. It’s 9:30. Should be on the road by 10.
I had to take RED down to a staging area so I could hook her up:

B&C&W made it to their 19th SEASON in YNP. Pictures to come!

They are in their 19th season. Looks like there is room for one more year – 20!

Winston in the snow! He is used to it! Still looks like a puppy here!

Yellowstone is welcoming them back!
Great video of the Grand Canyon – thank you Jeff!
I was watching YouTube this morning and Ziggy wanted to be on the desk too!

Ziggy and Metaxa enjoying the sun this morning.
