RV Life with DAISEE2 #130 Friday, May 2, 2025

Good Morning Everyone,

Starting a new Month – a day late. I’m leaving on Monday for my trip to New Mexico. I’m looking forward to it. The weather should be cooler than here, but we’re getting a cool down on Sunday, so who knows. I’m still doing my 100 day walking challenge. I’m on Day 15:

I can’t go to Usery any longer. I’ll need to wait until the fall. There is a lot of shade in this area so I should be able to walk there for a few more months. After that, I may need to go to the exercise room at DVRC. I’ll keep you posted on that.

I’ve mentioned that Shannon and I are planning to go to Yellowstone National Park in June of 2026. I’m going to call them this morning to see if I can get a reservation or when I can get one. I’ll be back! I can’t make a reservation until June 5th so I’ll call back then – I’ll be at Sharp Creek!

On the Rolling Rally – they went to the Space Museum:

When they were in Alamogordo, they went to a Pistachio farm. I’ve always wanted to do that. I’m sure they had a great time and learned a lot. I love pistachios!

Tomorrow I leave to meet up with them again in Silver City. I’m taking refried beans for the Mexican Pot Luck on Monday – Cinco De Mayo!

As Mel Fisher would say “Today’s the Day”! Leaving shortly for Silver City KOA. Here is a map of the park:

It looks pretty nice. Can’t wait. Gonna pack this up now and continue once I get there. See you later! Made it to the KOA at 1:30PM – AZ time – 2:30 NM time. Here I am:

DAISEE2 looks great but she is REALLY DIRTY! It rained on me a lot of the way.

Cheap gas in New Mexico!

List of attendees with Genie and me also. It’s just about time for the 5PM Pot Luck. I needed to split up my beans and microwave them. Now I think they are hot enough in the slow cooker. Time will tell. I’ll be back later to continue this. Of course, according to Sue there was a little “drama”. Can’t wait to hear it all.

These were my temperatures this morning. It’s a little blurry, but I think you can see it. The furnace cycled twice and now I have the radiator on and it’s 50 degrees inside now. I ran out of propane in my Little Buddy, but I think I have another can in the storage – I’ll get that later. My coffee tastes great this morning. I started the meeting (got up finally when I realized what time it was) and didn’t have coffee to start, but I made it as I listened to the meeting. It was a great meeting. Everyone wants to RV with me!

I’m not sure what this was all about, but Jenn entered some flowers in some contest I believe. 1000 year old bloom? Don’t get it, but it is what it is. She knows! That is Heidi by the arrangement.

We took a little trip to a Cemetary and Fort Baynard here in Silver City and then we went to the town and had lunch.

Billy the Kid homesite circa 1870.

There were a lot of colorful murals on the sides of building too. Nice little town.

We had a nice sunset last night:

I took a picture of types of BINGO games for the future:

We played BINGO last night – I won a game and so did Marie – we made $1 each. It was fun and Lucy played too:

My temps this morning with the radiator on 1 all night:

Our excursion today, Wednesday, May 7, 2025, was to the Cat Walk Recreation Area. It was an hour and a half drive, but was really worth it. The hike was so great. Beautiful day for a hike:

Lucy came along and climbed the wall!

I even did a little video of our hike:

On our way back to camp, we stopped at Leopold V ista Picnic Area. It was very cool. Thanks to Sharrie we learned about it. The views were wonderful!

All of the picnic tables were done with mosaics. Really awesome! This was one of the views:

So the rally was 21 days. Everyone thinks 14 days is long enough – 21 is a little long. I can’t do any of that, but I did make it to the first and last stop and that was fun for me. Here is a picture of all of the women who made it the 21 days!
