RV Life with DAISEE2 #161 Thursday, March 26, 2026

Today’s blog is dedicated to METAXA!  She is not doing well and it may be the end for her.  She has been a beautiful companion for 16 years and I love her so much.  She has finally settled in with the two babies (Zena and Ziggy) but she isn’t making it to the litter box very well.  She peed on me twice yesterday and I’m thinking it may be her way of telling me that she is ready.  I could be just reading this into her behavior, but I don’t know.  She is here this morning:

Ziggy is worried about her:

Here she is as a kitten in Naples 16 years ago:

This is how I’ll always remember her – she loved to drink out of the sink in the bathroom.  I promised myself that I wouldn’t get stuck with that behavior in DAISEE2 but of course she won out!

This was in Benson, but it happened here in MESA too:

I originally had this picture as my opening picture on my new phone, but I found another one without the bathroom fixtures.  Here is a great picture of Ziggy and Zena – they are truly a wonderful addition to the family!

Here she is on my lap in DAISEE2 where we had many adventures together!

Metaxa crossed over the rainbow bridge today at 11:30 AM.  We went to a different vet because Adobe could not see her until tomorrow.  The place is Follow Your Heart Animal Hospital and it is next to Walmart on Higley.  Very close.  The doctor is Dr. Luis and he was really great.  I think we’ll transfer the baby kitties to that clinic too.  Here is a picture of Metaxa that I love and have at my desk that I will see everyday:

This was taken in Benson in my kitchen.  I love it so much.  God bless Metaxa!  16 years of purr love!

This was how the baby kitties were when we got home:

My first day without Metaxa.  It is sad!  She had a great life though and I’m proud of her!  God Bless You Metaxa!  I’m adding some more of my favorite pictures of my sweet Metaxa – this one was in Benson!

This was from Benson where she used the cat door the one and only time:

This was when she was with Wylie in my Born Free.  It was cold living in there in Benson in 2019/20.

This showed how smart she was!  She could climb a ladder in the Born Free:

This was in the Born Free trying to keep warm:

This was with Wylie and Domino on the front porch in Naples at Shadowood:

When she was a kitten, she was always trying to be so cute and it worked:  I always loved this picture I just wish it was a little BIGGER!

Finally, another picture of her with Wylie and Domino in Naples.  It was a great life:

They always seemed to line up that way, Wylie, Metaxa, Domino.  Such great cats – RIP all of you – hope you are playing together now in Cat Heaven!

One final picture of Metaxa on our last trip together to Cattail Cove – Feb. 2026.  It was chilly and she found the sun!

It is now April 15th and I thought I would add some other cute Pictures of Metaxa to this blog;  Here she us catching the sun on my porch in Benson:

This picture was from Benson also from the couch by the Stained Glass Window Pane:

This was a picture of her sleeping “away” from Buster:  What a failure he was but he was pretty cute!

This was how she was in Mama Bear:

This was a cute picture of her with the Cayote on our porch in Tucson!

This was in the house in Tucson when Zena was a kitty:

I thought I needed to put one more picture of Metaxa in DAISEE2.

While I was scrolling through my pictures on my iPad for the ones of Metaxa I finally found this one.  I don’t know why it isn’t on my phone but it isn’t.  Who knows how GOOGLE works it’s “magic”!  Anyway, look how sad:  This was in the ER in Tucson after his 7 hour heart surgery – what a miracle!

Final pictures of Metaxa in Olivi@.  Had to have these also since she has been in all of my rigs!

I remember that I didn’t like the TV screen showing so I put the Flamingos over it.  I wonder what ever happened to that cool hat?
