RV Life with DAISEE2 #164 Tuesday, April 14, 2026

I thought I’d start a new blog because the last one was about my awesome trip to Dead Horse Ranch State Park which was an amazing weekend.  I had SO MUCH FUN!  Today, we’re starting, I hope, our last project for the house.  Jared and his brother are coming here this morning to put a shade over our bedroom window in the front of the house.  Here is the start:

Here it is in the process:

You can see how much the tree next door was trimmed yesterday.  It really opens up our view and we can see the mountains at the end of the road now that the tree is trimmed.  I really like it!  Here is the finished project:

It looks amazing!  So happy with it.  This is what it looks like from the bedroom:

Beginning again on Thursday, April 16, 2026.  Tax Day in America!  My taxes are done – just waiting for my refund.  I started thinking about that the other day.  I’ve had Tony Gualario do my taxes for 49 years!  Isn’t that AMAZING?  Anyway, each time I get my tax return from him, I try to look at it and figure it out.  Can’t do it.  It’s worth it to me to pay the $350 to him to have it done professionally.  I have no idea how he comes up with all of those figures, so I just relax and take it easy – let him (rather his son now) do it.  TUG for Tony and his son.  Let me check to see if I got my refund yesterday.  I’ll be back!  Nope, not yet!

It’s another beautiful day today.  56 degrees this morning.  I love it when it’s in the 50’s in the morning.  I hope this cool weather stays for a while.  Next month I’ll be going to Williams for a rally.  That means I can go to the Grand Canyon again.  I may tow the JEEP because I’ll be there until Monday and a lot of people will be leaving on Sunday and I won’t have a “driver”.  I’ll need to think about that.

This was me on Route 66 the last time I was in Williams.  It was the time I took the train to the Grand Canyon during COVID.  We had to wear masks on the train.  It was really bad!  It took 2 hours to get to the Grand Canyon by train.  It was a bit of a bore.  Even in a car, it will take 90 minutes.  We’ll see how it goes.

Looks like a straight shot, but still a bit of a drive.  Still debating about taking the JEEP.

It can be easily done.  Time will tell.  I’ll keep you posted!  I’ve decided not to take the JEEP.  Too much mountain climbing.

It is Saturday, April 18th and Bill and Cathy’s 34th Anniversary!  Good for them.  Jack and I are going to hang shades on the garage carport.  Wish us luck!  I’ll take pictures!

Beginning:

Jack was in a bad mood about it, but he perservered.

We got both sides done:

This is how it looked from the street:

Final product:

Finally what it is meant to do – shade the JEEP on the west side during the sunniest part of the day:

Got the project done and nobody died!

Char and Marci got their puppy!

I decided to try Pet Insurance by Lemonade – I sure hope I never need it!

This was a couple of years ago.  This is how it is this year:

I learned a lot about how Jack works when he has a project to complete.  He bought a new phalange for the back of his BLUE Corvette.  It sat in the garage for a couple of weeks.  He was figuring out how he needed to install it.  There had to be holes drilled into the trunk of the car – pretty scary stuff!  Anyway, after multiple tries, he finally got it to work.  Had to use some double sticky tape to hold the right side down and also some super duper adhesive to hold the screws in place, but finally yesterday this happened:

It looks very cool and finished.  I like it!

Starting my list of what to bring for this trip:  I’m really anxious about the trip since I haven’t flown anywhere in many years.  But I’m looking forward to the trip.  It’s gonna be expensive – more so than if I took DAISEE2.  Maybe next time I’ll do the trip in her with Jack and the kitties!

Ziggy fell asleep by me on the couch – what a sweet thing:

I was looking at old blogs the other day and the above link will take you to the time I found Olivi@.  The one below shows when I found DAISY BF:
