Hello everyone from Catalina State Park! I’m here with a few RVW women somewhere. I brought Metaxa this time so I’m much happier just being in the rig with her and not worrying about other things. At some point I’ll try to touch base with them, but I think they are in A Loop and I’m in B Loop which is a little farther down the road. I have my bike and will get it out tomorrow. Today I’m just happy to set up my camp and computer. The MiFi works great on this new computer and it’s FAST. Here is the first picture today: I take it back. It’s not fast uploading pictures, so I’ll add them when I get back. Perhaps in a bit they will work better.

This is my site set up:

OK so pictures are not going to upload, but I’ll add them later when I get home or maybe in a day or two is I get better service, There are only 2 bars for Verizon but I’m not sure that has anything to do with it.
I took a great picture of the bathhouse and the view from it. I went in to check out the facilities and I have to say it was the cleanest one I have ever remember being in. Just fantastic. I’m also going to use the dump station before I go home. It is really convenient and since I’m only 1 hour from home, I can do it at anytime when I go out. I picked up a great book from the LENDING Library – “Capital Crimes” by Stuart Woods – it’s great so I’ll be reading that a lot.

I’m hoping for a beautiful sunset. It’s a bit breezy and I put up the awning already for the night. Metaxa is now settling in and is on my lap purring. I am so happy (so far) that I brought her. No sunset and now it’s getting dark. I’m going to go out to see the stars tonight, but it will be for only a short time. I just want to step out and take a look.
I’m going to start this up again tomorrow. I have to say I LOVE this computer. The keyboard is so comfortable and the screen is large and clear. I can watch videos on it and it’s just great. YAY!
Good Friday Morning, October 28, 2022. Woke up to very chilly temps this morning:

So I turned on the furnace and it started RIGHT up. I love the systems in Daisy! They are so reliable – not bad for a 17 year old coach.
Saturday, October 29, 2022. So today is just as cold this morning although it got pretty warm on my walk yesterday. It was 51 degrees inside this morning. The heater is doing great. I didn’t turn on the furnace though.

Last night we met at Alice’s site and sat around and introduced ourselves. Jan and Mary have a beautiful Class A and they travel with a cat. Mary said she would come look at my generator to see if she can trouble shoot it for me. That would be very cool! She is a veteran and seems pretty knowledgeable in mechanical things. They are from Tucson too. Also Denise is here from Tucson so now I have 3 girlfriends to play with. We all want to go camping at the spur of the moment. YAY! Found out that Denise wanted to live in a tiny house. It will be fun getting to know her. She is only 60ish. I met her for the first time at Kartchner.
Yesterday I did a little hike to the Romero Ruins. It was very interesting and had some nice views. I rode my bike there. Here are some pictures of the hike – only one spot looked like ruins though.

Oh but also, as you know I left my coffee at home. I always leave SOMETHING. So I rode my bike outside of the park and right across the street was a marketplace that included Walmart! So I rode the bike there. What a beautiful area. It also has an entrance to the bike path around Tucson. Next time I come here, I’m going to try it.

I did the one thing I said I would never do…….I left the awning out. No damage, but it could have been a problem. The folks next to me did it too. I’ll be better tonight.
I also went to Bobcat Amphitheater. It was beautiful. It looked like it was set up for a wedding. I took a picture of my bike in front of it and sent it to the group on Facebook.

I’m thinking I might need to come up with a name for the bike. To be determine. OK just decided. The bike is Charlie. Like Charlie Brown and Luci!
Sunday Morning October 30, 2022. Here are the temps this morning:

I love it here! This is the greatest park and I love it that it is so close to home. I can come here often – they say mid week is usually open so that is what I’ll probably do. Tuesday to Friday. We’ll see how that goes. The park is full this weekend.
Yesterday I went for a hike in the afternoon with Jan and Mary. They led the way. It was a great walk. Here is a little video of the stream:
The hike was really good. Lots of pretty pictures.

This is such an amazing park. I just read where there was a fire in 2020 and they closed the park from June to August. That is why there are no fire rings here. Here is information on that fire:

I brought the map back into Daisy. Love this – thanks Suzee!

And Metaxa decided it was ok to keep me warm!

So I’m home now. Takes about 40 minutes to get home from Catalina. SO COOL! We’re already planning to go back next April with RVW. Denise is trying to get in – she is going on the waiting list. I’m so happy that I have new friends in Tucson that I like and that want to go camping.
Bill and I had dueling sunsets yesterday – it was so beautifu!. He sent a picture from Benson:

We think we won this time! And we woke up to this temperature today:
