Picacho Peak State Park

Hello Everyone!  I’m in Daisy at Picacho Peak State Park for the weekend with RVW – Arizona Chapter.  So far, my Verizon MiFi is working great and I’m uploading pictures very quickly.  THAT makes me HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY!  I need to fix the type of paragraph.  I like to be able to load large pictures not these little dinky ones:

So let’s see if I can do that.

I think I just did it. Let’s see:

Fill ‘er UP!

I need to just click the “+” icon and choose the right type of paragraph.

Here is Daisy all tucked in – no leveling needed AT ALL!

Site A24 – right across from the site we’re meeting in as a group. That is pretty cool. Don’t have to walk far to participate.

We now have another quilt in Daisy. It’s Jack’s grandmother’s quilt. It looks so beautiful – it’s probably 100 years old:

I just got back from the Meet and Greet. There are about 35 of us here this weekend. I love this group. I might get more involved. But I’d need to check with Jack about that. It wouldn’t be fair for me to do that without discussing it with him. Maybe in a year or so. We’ll see.

Here is a picture of part of the group:

Laurie, Laura (out of the picture) and Linda & Alice.

And this one:

The site where “things are happening” is right across from me, so I’m planning to go to the fire tonight. I never do that otherwise.

Here is SUNSET tonight:

Sunset from my SITE!

Evonne (?) has a tribe of huskies. One regular size one and two miniatures. I sent the picture to Jack. Maybe he’ll think about getting one to replace Odie. He is really said about Odie. I think it’s a combination of his surgery and losing Odie. Of course, my leaving on a trip like this bums him out also. But that isn’t something I’m going to change. My peace of mind is important also and taking Daisy on trips is important. I miss Metaxa, but I’m glad I don’t have her with me this time.  There is too much going on and I want to participate plus I want to ride the bike around here.  It was warm this afternoon, but as the sun went down it got chilly.

Beautiful Huskies.

Dinner in Daisy.

Love me some Amy Bowls!

Starting again on Friday Morning November 18th. Happy Heavenly Birthday ODIE! R.I.P.

Today’s Sunrise:

Sunrise at Picacho from my site!

Went to the fire last night for a short time. It was really smoky so I went back to the rig. I’ll try it again tonight. I might start my own fire though because I brought my papers to burn. Maybe once it warms up a little.

Took the bike out today:

Starting again on Saturday morning, November 19th. I burned up my papers today. Here is a picture of my fire.

I also took a video of the fire so I’ll upload it here.

Next we’ll have “games”.  Getting ready to do that.  I just love these weekends.  I really need them.  Just me and Daisy and Metaxa (although I left Metaxa home this time because of Odie).  Plus I’m glad she is home because it’s a bit cold here and I’m doing a lot of activities.  I am going to go to Amato in December.  Going to set up my reservation today.  Then I’ll be there December 8 to 11th.  It too is only about an hour from Tucson.  Just love where I live!

So I went to “games” today before the hike later in the afternoon.  We played JENGA.  I’ve never played it but here I am:

Jenga!

Then later in the afternoon we went for a hike on a trail to an overlook and we could see Mount Lemmon. The hike was great.

After the hike I needed to heat up the Lasagna. The baking in the convection oven didn’t work very well so I ended up microwaving it for about 15 minutes. It finally heated up enough to take to the Pot Luck. When I got there at precisely 5PM when it was supposed to start, others had already brought their crock pots. I need to remember to put the little one in Daisy for Pot Lucks. Anyway, the good news is I got to bring enough of the lasagna back to the rig so Jack and I can share it when I get home. It’s really tasty. Here it is at the end of the line of crockpots:

Left over lasagna for Jack and me:

Leftovers

Maybe I should put the Instapot in Daisy rather than the crockpot. Or maybe both. I have the bigger crockpot for home and I’m not sure I would use the Instapot at home. We’ll see. There is room for both in Daisy,

Today is Sunday, November 20, 2022. It’s my last day at Picacho Peak. Here are a couple of pictures from my last walk around:

The view from my LOOP

It was beautiful this morning!

Can’t wait to get back!
