RV Life with DAISEE2 #41 Thursday, February 9, 2023

Good Morning Everyone,

Thought I would start a new post today. I’m home from my very excellent adventure to Cattail Cove State Park in Daisy. It was so cool. They sent out an alert for next February and I’ve signed up for it again. I am in Site 54 this time. Genie is signed up too. I’m thinking I want to take Daisy to Kartchner and test out the towing capacity of the VW. This one would have Jack, Metaxa and me. Then we could go visit Bill and Cathy and Rich. I’d love to see how he’s moved into my old house.

Yesterday I drove to Saguaro National Park and did a little hike. I’ve decided my walks around the neighborhood are a bit boring so I’m going to try this for a while. I’m still amazed that we are so close to a National Park. SO COOL! Anyway, from my hike yesterday:

Also I saw this cool “driftwood”:

Also thought this was cool:

I went to the National Park again yesterday and took a really great hike: Here is Luci waiting patiently for me to return:

Luci in the desert.

It was the first time she drove on a dirt road. Don’t think we’d go on it with the JEEP though. Here is my hiking route:

I can do this on a walking app from my phone. Once you get going on the hike you have to continue walking until you get back. At one point I was hoping I hadn’t taken a wrong turn. But I got back safely. It took me 47 minutes which was a nice hike for a first time out.

Here are some other pictures from the hike – the Saguaros are amazing!

The trail was very well maintained and I’m still amazed that this is in my own backyard. No more walking on Bonanza when I can drive here in 10 minutes!
Hitch hiking Saguaro!

I will probably go again today. I just saw a post from Robin from Creativity RV and she was at Joshua Tree National Park. I mapped it and it’s only a little more than 5 hours away. I think we should go there between now and when I go to Catalina with RVW. More will be revealed. I texted Cathy the other day to see if they were planning a trip. I didn’t hear back which is a bit odd. I’ll probably call them today while I’m hiking. I’ll be back with more pictures from my adventures!

Joshua Tree National Park – 5 hours from here in California.

I went to Saguaro National Park again today, Saturday, February 11, 2023. It is ONLY 10 minutes from my house so I’m planning to hike there everyday I can rather than just walking in the neighborhood. IT’S FREE because of my National Park Pass. Thank you Uncle Sam!

Another App on my phone – Map my Walk.

I can send this out so I get a history of where I was.  I think I’ll use this app rather than the other one I used the other day.  It has more to offer.

Here are a couple of pictures from today.

Love the desert!

Unique Cactus

Cloudy Day but beautiful just the same!
Hike through the wash

It was a little rougher walk today, but it was still great. I don’t feel as stiff today. Maybe I’m getting in shape a bit now. Anyway, there will be more hikes through the park. So blessed to be so close.
