RV Life with DAISEE2 #67 Wednesday, October 4, 2023

So today I have DAISEE2 home plugged in for my trip to Catalina State Park tomorrow. I put her in storage from my Flagstaff trip with a partial tank of gas. We drove it twice down to Freedom RV for repairs and so today when I filled her up I spent $180.00 – but she is FULL now!

Here she is at Circle K down Speedway at Houghton – my favorite gas station to fill up. Only $3.95 a gallon. It took $180 to fill her and she took 46 gallons. I think I have a tank that holds 55 gallons. Let me check that out. Confirmed at 55 gallons.

So now we wait. She is chilling down the fridge:

Here is a picture of Daisy BF at the same spot:

I brought Metaxa into DAISEE2 today just to check it out. She isn’t so sure:

I’m not sure how she’ll be when we ride. Glad it’s only 40 minutes tomorrow. I might put her in the bathroom and close the door.

It’s Thursday, October 5, 2023. I’m up at 4:30 for my meeting, just waiting for it to start. Metaxa didn’t make me get up early today. Zena was up with her this morning. Such a sweet cat. I picked her up and put her in the bedroom and closed the door. She’ll jump up on the bed and sleep some more until Jack gets up. That is our morning routine. I’m getting excited about the trip today. It’s only about 40 minutes from home. I love Catalina State Park. Sandy isn’t going to make it. Her husband has to have a pacemaker put in so she can’t come. She was going to be my biking buddy. And Genie had to put her dog down yesterday – I didn’t even know she had a dog. She’ll leave from Santa Fe this morning though – it will be an 8 hour drive for her. We’re not parked near each other this time. There are a lot of women I know on the list. Laurie Alexander and I are supposed to get together this weekend to discuss the Treasurer Duties. I’m going to take it over in January. I’m ready to roll except I need to bring in the food for the trip. I’ll probably leave here around 10:30 or so. If I can wait that long. I get antsy to leave. I’ve decided to let Metaxa ride in the bathroom with the door shut. I think she’ll be safe in there. She went right in there yesterday (you can see by the picture above) so I think that will be good. It is a little insulated so it will be a bit quieter for her. Waggle says it’s 68 degrees in Daisee2. That is great.

Here are the temperatures for the next few days: Still a little warm. Guess I’ll need the A/C!

I was hoping for cooler temps during the day. Oh well – at least I’ll be plugged in so I can run the A/C.

Just went out to DAISEE2 to check her this morning. It’s 65 inside and out. Here are the fridge temps:

I set up the bathroom for Metaxa for today’s ride – it should only be about 1 hour that she’ll be in there.

I just realized that the shower curtain isn’t long enough for the shower. I’ll need to get another one. I think I’ll look for one on Amazon with campers on it like I had in Naples. I’m going to do that now!

Here is the rear of DAISEE2 at the street:

This is Daisy BF at the street:

Heidi turned me on to this daily crossword puzzle. I don’t get it often, but today I did:

Makes me feel smart when I do it!!!

I arrived at 11:30 and my site was ready – YAY! Here I am totally level with out any help!

It’s slow uploading pictures. Not sure I can do it here. Anyway, the above picture is of the leveling bubbles. Pretty perfect – no big levels needed. I’m in SITE 7 and it’s a pull through, With a big tree on the driver’s side of the rig. Taxi is exploring right now! SO GREAT!

This is my view from the front seat in SITE 7:

Metaxa is getting a little comfortable in DAISEE2. I had to breakdown and put the A/C on. It says it is 84 in here now. It was 91 when I started.

It’s fun to have these back windows at the bed:

Two hours later:

There is a lot of heat coming from the cab. I should have brought the other windshield cover. I have the reflectix but there are some gaps. But once I put it on the windshield I never take it off and I really want to see the view out the window when it gets cooler today.

This is my neighbor in front of me: It is a BEAN: Reminds me of Olivi@. I think she is with us but she isn’t plugged in nor using A/C. It’s 97 today here – too hot without A/C. The owner is Anne Henderson and she is new to Tucson. I’m going to try to horn in on her little tent set up later to get to know her.

Here are a few pictures of Olivi@ with all of her BLING!

I went to the Meet and Greet. Good group and I left my bag chair there for the get togethers each night. We’re going to have the PIZZA party on Saturday night rather than Sunday night. That makes me happy! Genie drove in as we were having the Meet and Greet – took her 10 hours. I’m sure she’s bushed. I texted her to see if she wanted company. If it were I, I’d probably just want to veg out and go to bed.

Just Chillin’!

My sunset tonight:

It’s Friday, October 6th. These are the temperatures I woke up to today:

So peaceful today. Last night was pretty awesome. There was a pack of cayotes that were crying 3 times – it was so cool. BUT that is why I don’t want to go on a night hike with the Ranger tonight. I’m listening to my music this morning. I love this camping thing! Coffee is GREAT! Cat on my lap! Can’t ask for more!

Yesterday, I was struggling with these pop up ads to the side of the screen. So this morning I thought I would try MSEdge. NO ADS! And I like the way this blog comes up on the screen. It’s bigger and brighter. That is pretty cool too. This is my sunrise this morning:

It’s really more orange than this picture shows. But it’s pretty good! Now I’m listening to SeriusXM on my little speaker. That is another thing I love about being on these little weekends. Having the music on in the background!

This is my site from the backside as I was walking to the Meet & Greet:

Going now to go bike riding. I took the bike off the rack – wasn’t easy but I didn’t draw blood!

We took a bike ride. I decided to be the last one and got frustrated over the fact that Rose could not keep up. Anyway it was a good trip. I got my Sticker:

It was too big for the book so I needed to trim it, but you get the point. I also got a great map of “The Loop” at the Ranger Station.

We ended up with 6 riders. It was a great time to ride. Not at all hot. I’m deciding whether I need to put on the A/C at 10:30 when I go to the store with Sue and Genie. I think so since I don’t know how long we’ll be gone and it will definitely be hot when I get back from there.

Karen had a brim on her helmet that FIT. So I’m going to order one of them. Will do that now. I’ll be back! $55 for the BRIM. It’s worth it!

I put the curtain up & I think it keeps some of the heat out.

Taxi is doing well!

Beginning again on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Didn’t sleep all that well last night – too warm in the rig. I finally felt some relief in the early morning hours and finally woke up at 6 to these temperatures:

Not as cool as yesterday, but not bad!

We’re going biking at 7:30 this morning. Going to take the Loop for a few miles. I’m sitting here listening to SMX and watching the dog walkers out my VERY large window. It is so nice having clear windows. The windows in Daisy BF were clouded so this is really a treat.

Suzee went to a place near where she lives that allows people to spray paint Graffiti on the wall:

Pretty cool. She’s getting to know her new home. I hope this works for her. I may need to drive DAISEE2 to visit her. Here is the tunnel:

And a waterfall – she said there are many of them near her:

Just got back from the bike ride on the Huckleberry Trail. It was amazing. I’m going to do it everytime I get to Catalina State Park. We discovered you can bypass the traffic light by going down the sidewalk right at the turn into the park. We stopped at the Ranger Station for a picture. Check out the mountains in the background!

We have a new kitten: Jack got him today because he was at an adoption event and we just had to have him:

He looks so adorable. I love his blue eyes. We have a couple of other pictures:

Gotch Day for Chunk! October 7, 2023:

We’ve picked July 27 for his birthday – he’s 3 months old. April 27th for Zena. So the 27th will be their birthdays together. It’s GREAT!

Our property manager sent Jack an email about DAISEE2 being at our house – they have to do that – anyway they took this wonderful picture of her – it included the yard and everything:
