Hello Everyone,

Our new chapter is beginning. We’ll be going to MESA tomorrow to check out the house. I’ve made my call to Brian for money gathering and so life is GOOD! Yesterday it got pretty cold here and SNOWED in Benson. Only rained here in Tucson, but there is snow on the mountains this morning.

I got this cool picture yesterday during the rain:

I’m up waiting for my meeting to begin so I thought I’d chat a little. I’ll take lots of pictures today to put here tomorrow – or this afternoon, we’ll see. Anyway, I’m SO EXCITED – can you tell?

Yesterday, Jennifer sent out a notice that she is going to be a grandmother. Maggie is due in July and it’s a GIRL! So excited for her. Her first grandchild!

So as promised, here are some pictures of our new house – it is truly amazing!

We need to remove that beautiful Ocotillo, but we have a Saguaro!!!!! and another little cactus in the front yard – I think it is an organ pipe cactus. That may grow too big, but the Saguaro is beautiful! It even has arms on it so it’s OLD! On the other side of the yard behind the mailbox, is a beautiful PALM tree! YAY – Florida remembered!

This picture shows the big Ocotillo that needs to be removed, the organ pipe cactus and our own Saguaro with ARMS! SO COOL!

You can see the other side of the house here where the Palm Tree is. If Daisy was going to go on that side of the house it would need to be removed, so I’m glad that doesn’t need to happen. If in the future Jack decides to build a garage in the back (a pipe dream) it will need to go. That is Julie in the window. That front window is HUGE!

Here is the front door and if you look carefully, you can see Jack inside the house.

The picture below shows the BIG front Bay Window and the beautiful wood floor and the fan in the livingroom. That window is about 7′ long! Not sure how we’ll need to put blinds on it.

I love the little window in the front door. I really like the hardware they put on the doors in this house.

I love this kitchen door:

You can see the cool hardware that is on the kitchen cabinets and the doors. I really like it!

This is our fridge – it’s a Westinghouse. We need to block the top of it because Ziggy will get up there and go behind it. Plus you can see the wall behind it – we think the space was made for a taller fridge.

Here is the stove: Glasstop again:

I was happy to see that the corner was set up with a lazy Susan corner piece.

Here is the view of the diningroom from the corner of the livingroom: It looks like the breakfront will fit on that wall along with the table set for 4. The oriental carpet will need a new home. I’m thinking on the floor of the AZ room. Or maybe in my room over the brand new carpet. Does that make any sense though?

Another picture including Jack and Julie. We’ll put stools at the passthrough so we can eat lunch there. We saw stools at Walmart or Home Depot that will work. I think the Berkey will need to go on the passthrough and perhaps the TOVALA. We can try the TOVALA on a countertop, but I’m not sure.

The Arizona room will be for Jack’s office. It’s got great windows looking out on the backyard and park across the culvert:

Great pass through from kitchen – over the sink.

It has indoor/outdoor carpet and it is in great shape! Could the oriental rug fit out there?

This is the only room with window coverings. If you look back at the diningroom picture you can see the valances for these windows:

I’m thinking that the mirrored armoire can fit in this corner perhaps. Having trouble seeing space for that in this house. I have my desk, side tables (which I think will fit in the little alcove. The middle part of the diningroom table for my “work table” and the bookcase needs to go into this room. It might get crowded.

I think my desk set up will go here.

I’m getting a little anxious about the new house. There isn’t much wall space so many of our pictures can’t be hung. I’ll miss those pictures – especially the Vallez prints. But that is part of my “old” life and I have a new one now, so I just need to “let it go”!

We put 3 things on FB Marketplace. The liquor cabinet, the saddle & the side steps for the Jeep. We need to add the TV cabinet we’re using now.

So today is Monday, January 15, 2024. We had pictures taken of the house today. Can’t wait to see them. Lori took pictures of the kitties as they were locked in the closet while that was going on. Metaxa stayed under the diningroom table.

Here they are together:

I love this picture of the kitties in the closet. They are so adorable!
